Tasmans

Postby coach » Sat Apr 22, 2006 9:43 pm

watched tasmans trial game between themselves today looks like big basco thinks he his playing for Bostons the way he was running around today. There will be a few sore bodys around the tasmans camp in the days to come i can tell you that much. It also looks like tasmans are going to be easy beats this year. Most would struggel for a game for bostons by the looks. Write down the win for rangers already.

yes, quiet right coach. I also went to have a little look at the game, very scrappy skills used and team looking very average at the moment!! Have got a few improvements to make before the first game i think.

Went and looked at the Tumby vs Yeelanna game...was a cracker. Tumby kicked first 5 or 6 goals but the young eagles side kept at it and hit the front half way thru the last qtr. More experienced Tumby players (with a bit of help from the white guys) steadied the ship to sneak home. Great game, hard and fast. Reckon the eagles will more than hold their own this year. Leslie spoke exceptionally, even when they were getting hammered at qtr time.

I also went to the Tumby Vs Yeelanna match played at Tumby Bay, and I have to agree with you there bluestheboy. At the first quarter time break I thought it'll be a boring 'one sided' game going Tumby's favour but Yeelanna came back out and fought it through to the end, at one stage Yeelanna hit the front. Leslie coached well but i think they lost the game because of the ruck.

I went to Cummins for a look at football up there, it looks as though Eyre United could be in for a long year? going on that performance. How many have you got to come into that side WTips? A lot of players underperformed but it is only early. Liked the toughness up there, I reckon they tackle a lot harder there than most clubs here in PL. Cougers have some good young kids too coming thru. Will Yeelana beat Eyre United?
Tasmans will finish third, might even push MR and W early, but as we all know when the wheels fall off the bandwagon (mid July). Wally is apparently aware he will be in the knockout final and is prepairing the boys to peak then this season (like Waybacks last year). Good Luck Wally!
Bascombe is trying to prove a point that he is the toughest big man in the leauge and wants to have a big presence on the field this year, Wally has instructed that he has a licence to hurt people, get in his way and suffer the consiquences, Ackland might sort him out.

we had a few unfortunate late withdrawls HTM, got 3 quality definite's to come into that side, with about 4 or 5 more we have to get motivated.

cougars much more fitter, harder at the ball and their skills compared to ours were exceptional.

very dissapointed in our camp. i expect we will pay for it mon and wed nights

suprising after all the players yellanna have lost that they were so competitive, tumby have only lost 1 or 2 players so i would've expected them to trounce all over them. we play tumby next week at tumby so could be interesting. like all years in the GFFL though, apart from ramblers all teams will under acheive until the 2nd round - look at yelanna last year won first 3 of 4 games then got flogged by 20 goals every game.

I was with BTB at Tumby and saw a very good game of tuff hard footy.......have to admire the talents of the UY kids - but just as much as the Tumby old heads - lost curtis during the second term and still got up - at no stage did RH look frustrated or angry - just went about his job coaching.....

ML was sensational.....spoke exceptionally well and "taught" the kids some things along the way......

I agree with WT - early season form can some times be misleading - but from what we saw today the skill may not be as polished as PLFL but it was far more physical......but the level of umpiring had a fair bit to do with that!

I am NOT having a crack at the umpires - they did a good job - it is the expectation level of that league - with regards to free kicks and physical contests truly reminds me of the AFL v SANFL umpires.....AFL umpires are red hot on frees - whereas the SANFL you really have to "earn" a free kick

HTM - if you truly want to catch up with schupps - come down and say hi - after he finishes playing footy for WFC - you know as well as anyone - his job requires him to travel........that's y u havent seen him!............but he will be in the red and blue on Tuesday afternoon

and btw HTM - can u smell humble pie?? The Crows may not be flag favorites - but the beat your sorry team at the house of pain!!...

tasmas will be strugling to make the final for this year im picking waybacks, rangers, souths and malleys will fight it out with tasmans. With Bascombe trying to prove he is a thug he will be out by the first round either by supenstion or a akas impresion on the side of his melon.

agreed old coop, Yeelanna could have used a 2nd big guy to help out yesterday. Might have kept Coad honest when he was on the ball. Had to love the attack on the ball by the young eagles. Who was the 15yo (No 11) who played up back? Liked him a lot.

Blues ordinary this year so your on the Crows bandwagon TRR.
Freo play a great brand of possesion football which rarely sides can get on top of, we will finish in the bottom half of the eight the same as your precious Crows.
Agree with you on the umps up there tho, no soft ones given!
Alright then coach you tell me how many people would shape up to Bascombe?

HTM - i dont barrack for the crows.......I would have thought by now that - you would know that I barrack, support and am a fully paid up VP of Carlton.............thats y i pick em nearly every week - more in hope than anything else......

So i'm not on the Crows bandwagon - it's just that you were pumping your freo drum - when you beat Carlton in Subiaco by bugger all.....and the Blues will finish in the bottom two................the freo drum not being beaten to much today after being humbled by the Crows in your House of pain!!

We have to support on-air - the Power and the Crows........they do after all support us with interveiws
