Old Moz - Good to see that you are still following SJ. All reports suggest that he is making an impact at the Bloods.
How did Danielle, McLean and Woodards go?
Would I also be correct in suggesting that, if SJ can take Maccy to the finals in 2009, he could claim coach of the year status in the Hills?
Are you prepared to pay the price? WILL YOU PAY THE PRICE?

Duke, i did take the time to check on the baby that was left on my doorstep all those many years ago  Daniele does not come to mind [ here i'm checking numbers in the programme, cos i wouldn't know any players by sight ]. Mc Lean ok [thought the other big bloke with the dreads was good esp at the start of the 3rd, gave the onballers a ride ]. Woodlands not in programme so have no idea. hard to say watching one game but he does seem to be doing something right. would not have a clue about coach of the year but the game i saw was a credit to both sides

Daniele going well.
Certainly has a go and has gone out of his way for the benefit of the club on and off the field on many occasions.
McLean still developing but has played better footy already than I thought he was going to after the first couple of trial matches and Woodards didn't play yesterday after straining ankle ligaments late in the game the week before.

I wouldnt read too much into seeing Kangy were only playing Callington, even Hackham would win very comfortably against them.

Looks like the Pearce/Cox trade is working a treat. Cox in the BP's for Kersbrook and K.Pearce 4 goals and 2nd best for St.Pauls

Despite being on the wrong side of 50. Great bloke Kimbo too.

Well both Maccy and Gums suffering huge losses yesterday and Kangy having a good win over Meadows, 5th spot is well and truely up for grabs. Must say I was shocked to see the magnitude of Maccy's loss as I thought they wouldve gained a fair amount of confidence from last week, perhaps too much confidence. As for my boys, we battled hard in the first quarter and early in the 2nd but the megastars wore us down. Add to that a few injuries and it wasnt a great day.

VISITED THE GAME AT GUMERACHA ON SAT. THOUGHT WAS GOING TO ENJOY THE DAY WITH FRIENDS AND WATCH A COUNTRY ORIENTATED GAME OF FOOTY. WHAT A SHOCK WE WERE IN FOR. NO NOT THE GAME ITSELF BUT SOME OF THE SUPPORTERS FROM THE HOME CLUB YELLING ABUSE FROM THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE GROUND TO WHERE WE WERE SITTING. SOME COMENTS LIKE HIT HIM, BASH HIM, TAKE HIM OUT ETC.
THOUGHT THAT WAS BAD ENOUGH UNTIL 3/4 TIME WHEN THE COACH OF THE HOME SIDE BROUGHT THE PLAYERS IN HEARING PROXIMITY TO US AND A NUMBER OF OTHER FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN. EVERY 2ND WORD THAT CAME FROM HIS MOUTH WAS F K OR LIKEWISE. IT WAS AN ABSOLUTE DIGRACE SO MUCH THAT THE PEOPLE WITH CHILDREN LEFT THE GAME DISGUSTED. THE PLAYERS WERE ABSOLUTELY DEMORILISED AND ABUSED TO EXTREME I AM SURPRISED THEY FRONTED FOR THE FINAL TERM. ALL I CAN SAY TO THESE SUPPORTERS AND THE COACH IF YOU CANT STAND A BEATING ON THE FIELD WHICH IS SUPPOSED TO BE CARRIED OUT IN A SPORTSMANSHIP MANNER THEN PERHAPS YOU SHOULD CHANGE YOUR INTERESTS. DISSAPPOINTED.

Fair call.

Was almost an acceptable performance for a half but they steamrolled us after half time.
Was very impressed by the fact that their pressure was as strong in the last five minutes as it was in the first five.
A very well drilled and disciplined line up that Torrens Valley will have trouble defeating in the GF if they play like they did yesterday.

Thought I'd mention - as some posters on here would have known/known of him - the sad death of Ben "Buddha" Vandenbrink in the early hours of this morning in Brisbane.
Ben was a talented sportsman despite the extra weight he carried and was a more than capable full forward in the B grade for Callington in the late '90's and then Macclesfield from 2000 onwards and he had an extensive playing and officiating career in the Hills (?) Basketball Association and as a cricketer for the Macclesfield and Finniss cricket clubs where he was a bowler who was able to get the ball to lift sharply off a length and as a batsman he made a hundred for Maccy about 5 years ago playing B grade and I'm sure he would have made more had he been fitter. A top team and club man and one of the real personalities of the Hills district.

RIP Big Man. :(

ODB, sad to hear about the Big Fella. Remember bringing up a mate to 'Fill in' for Kersbrook B's one day, and his job was to play Full Back on 'Buddha'. To see the contest gave new meaning to 'David vs Goliath'! It's a day my mate hasn't forgotten in a hurry.

Footy wise ODB, thought your blokes would have put on a better showing after some encouraging performances of late.

On a lighter note, interesting to hear Claire Murphy on Nova this morning after she'd visited a game of footy in the Nairne region. Reckon's she showed some interest in one of the footballers up there, but he suggested he batted for the other side  Big Fella can you confirm this rumour?

Couple of Courier Cups being played this weekend....
Big one would have to be
Torrens Valley Vs Kersbrook. at MP. Kersbrook just got over them last time at home but I would say the TV boys have now had some time to get used to how each other play and will just get up over Kersbrook.

Claire actually lives with her partner, and they are next door neighbours to one of the Nairne players.
