Hope not and who knows? Was rumored he spent $100K to finish 2nd last year.

Interesting note in the TV club rooms on Saturday calling for it's members opinion on the following options

- Stay in Hills Country and win the next 4 or 5 flags
- Jump up to Hills Central
- Join the Barossa/Gawler League

Cougar I have just joined as a member recently and voted to join the BL&G league. You should do the same....

They are interesting options for Torrens Valley. My understanding is that to join Central Division a club needs to apply by 30 June and one of the League directors told me on the weekend no-one had. Who are they trying to kid about the Barossa idea. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but don't they have restrictions on the number of players a club is allowed to import from out of their allocated area? If that is so then how will they field two teams? And the last option about winning premierships, didn't they think that last year?

Shame there wasn't a fourth option:- GO AWAY ALTOGETHER AND NEVER COME BACK. Or at least be the club you used to be sans GH, and get a life in Hills Country.

Torrens Valley too good for Maccy.
A class outfit that will probably finish 2nd again but that's only 'cos Kersbrook are right up there as well.

One thing that would be good to see though would be umpires umpiring the game straight up and not taking into account past grieavances or their club's bad record because that's how the TV V Maccy game was umpired today and one umpire in particular is apparently normally a Central Div umpire and from what I saw today, I hope he stays up there because along with P*****r, he was by far the worst umpire I've seen this year and then to rub salt into wound he bagged the Macclesfield Football Club after they rightfully complained about a ridiculous free kick that was given 10 metres out from goal.

Mick, if you're going to have these umpiring panels, teach the boundary umpires that they will have to go behind the goals to retrieve balls sometimes and today's effort where the panel boundary umpire couldn't be bothered retrieving the ball was pathetic.

James and Hughes had 8 each at half time, with Kersbrook 34.20. Brian Quill kicked his first goal in 4 years

Does any1 honestly think these kinds of score lines are good for the comp. I understand opposition teams thrashing them, because if they dont they lose %, because every1 else does. But surely the LEAGUE has to take a stand here & give additional support to Callington in the form of extra points or something to help them atleast be sort of competitive. If not, this type of damage is irreversable. They will never be able to attract any type of player ever again

The topic has been thrashed about on this forum, and no one denies the HFL have to do something. Can't see it happening again in 2010.

agreed... the scorelines from the weekends games were all very one sided. however i think most expected the nairne/echunga game to be closer but the gums/meadows scoreline was flattering for the bulldogs. the leauge need to step in and do something. but no matter what they do any real improvements wont surface for a few years when the current crop of players at the top clubs retire etc. even then who knows!

heard that kangarilla will be welcoming back a premiership hero in this weeks game against the rams.. anyone heard who this might be? i was thinking possibly heath thorpe or maybe kym tattersal... could fill the void wakefield and trent thorpe have left

Didn't manage to catch any of the games this weekend, but after speaking with the Echunga coach I'm led to believe Tattersall couldn't do any worse playing A grade then attempting to umpire it!!
