Where did u hear this from Ace & how good are your sources. Was talking to their coach & he seems to thinks that they are staying

Depends on who we are talking about firstly.
I know my info is sound but I doubt that it will be Hills footy they play.

Johno may now have to do it for free next year after the club covers the cost of the damage. At least he will finally be getting what he is worth.

On a more serious note, what a bunch of tools. You would like to hope not club people.

On a serious note, I would say not. Don't know where the $8000 figure came from but it was grass damage and not surface damage.

This will hurt Maccy financially as wasn't Maccy Oval penciled in for the GF again? I know they made a killing last year.

Would also like to hope it's not someone from a club who is disappointed that they didn't get it. What some have to realise is there is a long history of clubs/ovals getting the grand final consecutively. If someone can point out the last time a club only had it for one year I'd like to know when it was because I'm guessing you'd have to go back to at least the '80's.

CK wrote:Disappointing that Callington felt they had to take on such a stunt. To be brutally frank, if they are really serious about attracting high quality players and staff there for 2010, I'm not sure that highlighting things so publicly for the state to see is the way to go about it. Surely it would have been better to consider going into recess for the remainder of the year some weeks back and looking toward a serious business plan for 2010. Not sure that rejecting the Mid Murray League approach is the right idea or not - going into a smaller competition may have helped them.

Well done to Echunga for what looked a big day financially at least. Was having a round of golf this morning and saw a number of hardy helpers cleaning up the ground, with plenty of people there to help out and all seeming to be enjoying themselves with good humour.

I said to my playing partners, watching that - that's how it used to be at Callington 10 years ago. How times change.

FWIW apparently the media outlets would only go to an away game for Callington - and I can only presume - as Callington was too far away for them.
Show's that there's still a mentality amongst some in the city that South Australia ends at the toll gate - anyone with half a clue would have realised that by the time they'd got off freeway at Hahndorf and lobbed in Echunga, they would have been at least 10km past Mt Barker if they'd (hypothetically) stayed on the freeway so in reality it would have taken them an extra 10 minutes to get there.
So much for helping Callington out

Cheers and they only reason they didn't get it the next year was because they were playing in it.
Not having a go, just pointing out there was a reason for it.

Shortman disappointing that the Kersbrook changerooms smelt like urine and the number 31 locker was damaged after the weekend.

Might have been Johnno in his cement truck just having some fun.
Catch 'em and pull their toe nails out, not easy to put the foot down hard on the pedal with that and I bet they don't do it again!

Where is the Super Termite ??
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

Spot on ODB I was worried about the damage with the latest rain. We have received 2 inches in the last two days.
Cougar didn’t you have a similar issue at the start of the season? How did you recover?
Although Kersbrook is so hard now that they would struggle to dent it, even after 2 inches of rain. I will not be surprised if your neighbour (Owen) is critical of your surface next year as it is the same as Ironbank’s the sand burns are incredible after the weekend.
On another note well done to Kersbrook on the weekend:
1. Turned up to play on Saturday
2. Put on a very good final venue on Sunday loved the Hamburgers with everything.
I think you will find a different Echunga team next Sunday the B’s will set the scene led by Joey and Bawd’s will have the A’s playing the same as they have during the season, that is hard at the ball and if they don’t have it the man will be hit hard. Both teams have that ability and should expect to get to the next round.
As Just Quietly would say go the D’s

Would hope number 50 for Echunga, the B grade coach would set a better example this weekend...the guy is a raving lunatic, thank god he is as slow as a slug when throwing his fists around.
Word around the trap is the assistant coach of Echunga Geddes is already being head hunted by a few clubs including Onkas.

Kersbrook Oval also was used for a 'Burn Out' contest earlier in the season, but was easily repaired as the grass was still recovering from the 'Dig Out' last year. The Oval is in pretty good nick considering what it looked like after the 'Dig Out' at Christmas last year. I think the Big 'O' saw the surface at Xmas, so would think he would be happy at what it's like at the moment. Just gotta keep it like it :D

Hills Country Div making it's second appearance this year on 'Today Tonight' tonight with interview on Barossa's new coach for 2010.

Kersbrook were last on 'TT' a few years ago when they were against Milang (CK's television debut). Unlike Echunga against Callington, Kersbrook slipped up letting Milang kick the first goal of the match, before piling on the next 44.
