The only sign on fee I got was a packet of Samboy Salt and Vinegar chips and a can of Mello Yello squash in 1985. But you're right BTB, I think there's a few crumbs left in the packet but obviously the can got refunded at the corner deli quick smart.

I assume you still have the 5c deposit refund?

No players attended from Waybacks A grade or Reserves. No players attended from Tasmans A grade or Reserves.

Does PL footy really need the Tigers, after last years efforts I'd say no. It's a bye anyway, might as well just call the day off and go fishing!![/quote]

I can't believe clubs agreed to it.
I agree that there should have been club representation, but to the contrary, when it comes to picking a club, I'd prefer the culture of a club that was celebrating a prelim win.

shouldn't they be taking it easy getting prepared for the GF?? I would think that's what the majority of teams would do.

Maybe in the AFL bum man...this is country footy where you celebrate all wins and in particular a prelim victory over the mortal enemy.

Sure have, put it a long term deposit account. I'll collect $23.88 on retirement age. The best thing about that is I'll gain an extra 2c because they'll round it up to $23.90. ;)

seems a simple change in times would fix the any problem if there is any problems! in the EEFL we hold the mail medal count on the sunday of the prelim final, (this aways seems to fall on fathers day  ) it is a lunch time event and we still seem to get a good turn out. the junior count is on saturday night after the prelim finals, once again it a good turn out.

the club receives a letter of who should attend (5 or 6player from the Az and Bz), and the club responds with the number likely to attend (for catering). but any players and officials can attend.

With BC here. Do your best players, get a feed into you, have a squash or two and head home. Bigger fish to fry. I know which game I would rather celebrate winning.

You sound a little surprised with that CA...what happened today was another insight into the never-ending psychic of the Tasman Football Club. It's funny how how, year after year, a club can have such potential with their player group but manage to waste opportunities and then whinge and complain that they were hard done by. I've never heard a group of people squeal as loud as the hangers-on at the edge of the Tasman coaches box after a decision didn't go their way, like 13 year old girls at a Justin Beiber concert. The late, great Darcy Harvey summed caught onto the Tasman mentality years ago when he used to tell his kids to "stop carrying on like a Tasman" whenever they were bitching and moaning.

How do you change a culture that is complacent with mediocrity and B grade premierships? Bostons, who have won the same amount of premierships as Tasmans over the last 30 years, are changing their attitude after being the easy beats for a long time which is great but I can't see this sort of mentality change happening with Tasmans. Any thoughts?

Who do you think you are?

How many games of football have you played and how many premierships have you won lad?

If a team gets past the Prelim into the GF I don't see any harm in having a few drinks after the game but save the shenanigans until the next week.

One would hope that ALL PLFL clubs have learnt a valuable lesson here that the Medal count should not be held on Preliminary Final night. As the winning club would like to acknowledge their achievement and the losing club would want to drown their sorrows.

Who cares now, it's all been done, Keatley didn't rock up on time, it happened get over it.
Tasman had two guys rock up (both non players) it isn't a good look, but it happened, can't change it, move on.

exactly, lets just hope next year the same situation doesn't occur! this can easily be fixed, get you clubs league delegate to bring this up at a league meeting and change the timing of the count!

Daicos - In answer to your question, Brideyoreilly has played over 100 games, is a dual premiership player and a premiership captain but I think you already knew that ;) ;)

Bridey your only payment would have been what you got out of the coaches pocket.
Darcey Harvey WTF
I knew Darcey for over 40 years and the family but seriously
One even married a Marble Ranger.
We arent squealing we were beaten by a better side on the day no complaints
we wish them all the best for this week.Unfortunately we were unable to keep what was a talented list
on the park each week.
We will spend the next six months working
on improving our list especially with our young talent thats coming through.
Our aim is to play finals footy and win a premiership.
