So Blackwood, Mt.Barker and Birdwood have probably had arguably the strongest juniors in the HFL for the past 2 decades but it's only coincidental there is a High School in those areas? No worries Joe Blow you make a lot of sense and where else are those Kersy guys spose to go to High school?

As for the guys that played Juniors Informer, they'd be Parasiers, Deluica, Hall, Moyle, Bingos, Pearce, B.James and P.James. While Hughes, Hall, Pearce, Deluica and Bingos would have played all over 100 senior games. Not bad considering we haven't had juniors for a few years now.

so you guys had 8 guys in your A grade on saturday that played juniors at kersbrook?
and we had moerman, muster, harrison, cannon, matters, smith, lamborn & ancell....? sounds like 8 for 8 too me....

8 vs 8??? Rooster we haven't had juniors for the last 4 years!!!! And I bet some of those blokes you mention above have only just started their senior careers, as I wasn't the only Kersbrook supporter or player who was quoted as saying 'Who are these blokes?'. I know it's been 4 years, but your list has changed considerably form when we last saw it.

C'mon Cougar??? Is that what we're playing for?? - to have the most juniors play in the A grade??
You obviously know with having only 8 juniors in your side (we had 9 by the way - Topham) that kids move away and stop playing for what ever reason and you need to replace those players. The majority of the locals that played A's on the weekend are still quite young so we had to recruit experience to add to the youth we already had.
Not all clubs are lucky enough to have a past AFL player come back to their home club to coach (and carry) the club. Ours was just good enough to get an asst gig at an AFL club ;)

Birdwood won first quarter then kersbrook won second and third to be 7 goals up at three quarter time. Cracking day of footy with both senior games being decided by a point.

Is that Shaun Dawson the ex Div 1 TTG player up there at Birdwood? No doubt he isn't playing up there for a packet of Chips as that guy is a gun. Big loss for the Gullies if it's him.

Well he'd be on a little bit. Word has it McGahey is on $600 + per game out there

great contest between the midfields hard to seperate
dawson huge for the roosters up forward as was bingos and when the ball hit the deck lees too for the brookers.
I would ask the rooster never to put mish bingos and conrad morris up against each other again that was a terrible call morris kicked 3 all from over the top hand passes 0 contested possies a real good callington forward there would never trouble the scorers in a strugglin side.

im ready to admit Morris might of had a bad day...but he did kick 5 against Echunga, so he can play against the good sides, no doubt about that. As for Bingos, i've played a fair bit of footy against him in the past and never thought he was much good, but i'm definitely willing to concede he's improved a lot.

sounds like an awesome game of footy... and for birdwood too come back from 5-6 goals down at three quarter time and grab a draw after the siren, not suprised the boys would have a big sense of relief and celebrated some!

Was an awesome game Rooster. Expected big things from Birdwood but while they were impressive they are far from a dominating force I was led to believe for Hills Country. Morris (who calls their kid Conrad!) was smashed by Quill and yes his goals were 'Cheap' crumbing ones. Bingos after being in bed all week with the flu played admirably and with Lees provide a dangerous combination up forward. Apples v Mcgahey was a good battle and the Dawson bloke can play.

Still gotta say though Rooster, played a game called 'Spot the Local' during your A grade performance and couldn't find too many. Muster, Smith and Moerman (any 100 game players? maybe Moerman and that's it?) were a few but no wonder you blokes train in town one night a week. Rumor has it you blokes have a budget Gary would be proud of. McGahey rocked up in a BMW, Morris rode in on a Harley and Krieg was flown in on his own private jet. Now you wouldn't want to finish 2nd at the end of the year when you're spending like that!

Birdwood and Kersbrook have a similar number of locals playing for their respective sides so not sure where you're going with this argument old bloke. Even Kersy has trained in town, if 50%+ of your side lives in the burbs why wouldn't you from time to time? Whatever it takes to get numbers out on the track. Kersy are 15mins closer to town so not as far for your recruits to travel.

You've only see Conrad play once Cougar and anyone can play a bad game. He is an excellent player and this just means he has some extra motivation next time he comes up against the Brooks.

Brooks have got a poor record against the Roosters since '03 (minus 07, 08, 09, 10 obviously), another 'hoodoo' team like Echunga??

just shows the massive gap from div 1 footy in town and country division. dawson is a good player but i dont think he was that good for the gullies. even played a few B grade games last year i think.

Hoodoo team McGovern? Who did Birdwood play against in their last final and what was the result? ;) And if Kersbrook had the chance to scalp the Roosters over the past few years they would have. No doubt the Roosters had a good record over the Brookers between 03 and 06 but the 8 years previous to that all the results bar one went the one way. No wonder you blokes hate Kersbrook! As for the Deez, their oval has historically proven a stumbling block, but not all the results away from Echunga have gone all their way. You'd get a $1.01 for a bet that the GF will be played between 2 of these 3 clubs at the moment.

I reckon that last quarter will be in the back of the Blues minds next time the two teams line up - Just like the '03 prelim haunted 'em!!

No love lost between Birdwood and Kersbrook, Birdwood love to hate Kersbrook!! They're the games you want to play - it's why we play footy!

As I hav posted earlier. Kersbrook v Echunga GF. Birdwood making up the numbers as Gum and the rest.

Birdwood can gob off now , BUT the Brookers wont give up that lead again.

I am not involved at Kersbook at the moment ( have been ) BUT still respect how they go about things.

I wonder what Beefy was like after the game. Fair chance theyll get flogged on the track this week. Must have been a cracker of a game. I know most sides rate these 2 above Echunga even though theyre undefeated, would be a great spectacle to see in the GF.

They've got nothin' to gob off about ol' bluey, it was a draw. They only played good footy in the first and last anyway so shouldn't have much to crow about.

nice.... it definitely makes it a whole lot easier too recruit some lads when you have an ex AFL player come through the doors. If Burnsy wasn't such a stud and the entire AFL hadn't wanted him as an assistant coach, he could've brought some pretty decent players up too the Velodrome i'm sure!!

and as for Birdwood now 'making up the numbers', after drawing with brookers on saturday?!?! that just makes no sense.
anyone with half a brain knows it's going to go down to the wire between the three top teams... after that we can talk about 'making up the numbers'.

obviously kersbrook are the only TRUE football team here with their HUGEE advantage of local players versus birdwood. (8 kersbrook v 9 birdwood). in my opinion these days if you can have nearly half your side in the A grade having played juniors with you, you're doing pretty well.
