What was the score Boots?
Goals?
Best?
Who played in wrong position in your opinion?

parsons terrific 4-5 goals

travis barnes ben schiller were my two best

pitchwin-brown i think was terrible. jack madjen redeemed himself with his ruckwork but everywere else wasnt flash. they needed agars a tall quick flanker. there midfielders didnt get back to help there defence well enough. the hills onballers were always there. and richard haymon played in the ruck for to long.

i forgot those 2 fell short

but u have to agree he plyed well

With all the talk about the captain of the u17's Association team. Can I ask Who got the job?
If I see it I say it.

Hi coach. Tom McCarthy and Nick Falland were co-captains. Both excellent choices IMO.

let me guess you would have had Max D as the other one... well i think its a gwd combo, fallond with the mouth and mcarthy with his hardness for the footy...

I'm with u Ablett.and FB, Tom McCarthy is a great captain. that is clear when he captains Barossa. And Falland can be very inspirational when he lights a game up.

lol haha really... so i suppose you'd be a better captain then mccarthy... well i bet the association players would have been happy with the captains choice and i wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people in the association would rather Tom M as their captain instead of the love of your life (max if your a bit slow)... IMO...

Settle down Ablett, it wasn't a personal attack on McCarthy, Boots was just saying he shouldn't have been captain.
Although he is a terrific player, some are just not meant to captain.

BTW I watched the Freeling vs Barossa game weeks ago, from start to finish and if you could hear what Max says out on the field or during the quarter breaks, you would know why he is praised at Freeling.

also in that game i struggled to hear mcarthy get the boys fired up. also in the assoc game. not an attack on him just not a captin.

You guys are wrong to assume a captain has to be "vocal" to be effective as a leader. Some lead by example, some are better with the voice. I say the combination of McCarthy and Falland was ideal. And obviously Matt Hermann (coach) thought the same. If you don't agree, then you have an issue with the coach as well.

McCarthy would of been a very good choise as captain. Better than Max. I think that some people out there think that if you can play you can captain. I would say the Freeling coach thinks this. That is why he has Max as the captian. The Associtaion coach new that Max can play and also new that he can't captain (he is a big head). Good call in my books. Also good call to have co-captains, this rewards two good players.
If I see it I say it.

I make the assumption that the coach put a lot of thought into the process, given he had 6 or 7 of his own players there and none got the gig....

Plus are people making their assumptions from what they saw on game - day or have they been involved in the whole long process...

From all reports, the coach is held in high regard by Central Districts so I assume he had reasoning behind his decision... Or did the league perhaps have a say in it??

it not only rewards two good players but it doesn't leave the burden of trying to get a team to fire up to one person... and like RB said some leaders so by example and having Fallond with the voice and McCarthy with his actions was a great combo...

i personally think we should leave all this captain shit behind and talk about the next round matches cos there are gonna be some massive scores posted this week id say...

There certainly ******* will be some big scores this week.
Here's my tips.

Angaston v Willaston - Angaston don't look like being near a win atm.
GC v Kapunda - There's no 10 year old kid around that'll be able to change the scoreboard quick enough to keep up with Gawler Central this weekend. GC by 1,000,000+.
South v Tanunda - Formality I would think.
Freeling v Nuri - Would not surprise me in the slightest if Nuri won but you have to give Freelign credit, they keep winning.

I went along to watch this one hoping for a tight game and yes I could hear Max on the sidelines. Most of his talk at the breaks was pointless swearing and fight picking. Not a good leader.

I don't know Dizz, Angaston wont be far off the mark against Willaston.
Tipping them this round with the inclusion of defender Joel Wilson back from U16's.(though I think he has come back already).

And just a little congratulations to Willaston's Joshua Waldhuter and Angaston's Steve Rusca for being selected in the U16's squad of 25 for SA along two other centrals players from the Elizabeth League, Corey Coad and Jake Hazeal.

This weeks games

Angaston vs Willaston. Willaston by a mile. Ango will not get close to any team this year.

Gawler Central vs Kapunda. GC can play a game for all 4 quarters and this week will be a training run for them.

South Gawler vs Tanunda. South can put a good game together and they seem to be getting better each week.

Freeling vs Nuriootpa. Nuri this week for me. Nuri are a very good team when the heat is on. Freeling are still not able to put 4 quaters together and that will be their down fall.
If I see it I say it.
