Not a condition of employment, but an ability/willingness to play footy certainly assists them during the selection process.

This might be OK for the short term but what a club needs is Juniors coming up throught the teams and Callington do not have this. They currently only have an U/13's team with 6 players having permits to play because they are over. They have no U/15's or U/17's. So the long term future for the club is not so bright.

If he is mates with Boodley, must be able to understand some quick talking. Or just nods his head at the right time! :)
We want Vaughn.

So are these mining boys playing this week for the Eagles? Would hope it would be a bit more of a hit out then last time. Will also make their upcoming fixture against Sedan more interesting.

I think your on the money there mate! it has all the landmarks there. Cally having such a good oval, keeps them alive, get alot of big finals and now renting out to the goverment for adds, not a bad way to get the unusual income flowing into the club

Yes it was, not something we sought out, they contacted us as they liked the oval. Myself and another 6-8 members of the club were also cast in commercials. We filmed over three days, three weeks ago. Bloody cold, but a lot of fun!

I heard Echunga by 2 goals after a spirited fightback by Gums. Came from 8 goal down to get within a kick before conceeding the last couple. Sounds like a good game and perhaps Echunga flirting with form a bit.

really disappointing day up at Cally. Day was marred by a callington player punching a supporter during the game. Totally unacceptable.

I suggest you look at the team sheet.
Whilst the first game I think that the Gums did well, look at the Demons, they were starting with a new coach.
This time they have a different team but still able to win.
Definitely not flirting,

This is not the first time this has happened this year a couple of the drop kicks from Callington after getting reported against Kersbrook went into the crowd to throw a few punches this must be the last straw it must be time to kick them out of the league it is unacceptetable it is bad enough for the comp with 50+ goal thrashinings and then a some of their drop kicks decide its ok to punch on with the crowd. Owen grow some balls and kick them out straight away

Pretty disappointing day for cally by the sound of it. I dont want any side thrown out but this cant keep happening.

Also, no credit to Gum Alaska ?? Running the top side to 8 points is a good effort regardless of who is playing. Good result for Nairne too. 5th is still up for grabs

Yeah, great stuff. More good publicity for the town of Callington (not). You guys must be pretty dim if you really believe it happened because they 'liked the oval'. I look forward to the day when one of the things the town can boast is a competitive football team full of fair players. No wonder it's getting harder to sell houses here.

Sorry Shortman, yes credit to Gums. Just saying they are not flirting with form.
The camaraderie in the B's seemed good so I am not sure of the talk on here regarding team culture is right?

What happens over the way with an incident like that? We had one last year (except it was spectator getting involved with player), over here in Lincoln, and the League did nothing... All the boxes were ticked (the spectator was a registered player, financial member of a club, had actually played the Ressies game, before he jumped the fence)...

What will likely happen here?

Probably nothing MP. Our so-called "League" is a toothless tiger. Pres is too busy selling himself to the media, not to mention not wanting to offend a huge sponsor such as Cally's "Hillgrove". Sorry to sound cynical, but that's the way it is. Any information to the contrary gladly accepted.
Older, wiser and been there. But still love that grassroots country footy.
