Can't be that bad of a standard we have A grade B grade and under 16 playing in the final of the Henderson shield next sunday

315 against any standard of cricket is impressive in any length of game.

Assume he opened, assume he faced about 75% of the balls (probably an overstatement) and it's 315 off 180 balls. Quality hitting in anyone's language.

You still need to have the concentration and ability even if the bowling is bad.

Got told that Mick Franklin congratulated him and shook his hand at 200, then wouldnt even acknowledge hime or anything at 300. Cant imagine Furmby crying.

That has to be some sort of record. Surely.
This was B grade or A grade cricket?
While on the subject of Pt Neill sportspeople - former pace spearhead Shannon Parker is donning the gloves and keeping for Watervale in the Stanley competition.
Does a pretty good job too. Smacked 120 in the A grade a week or two back and opens the batting! WTF??

Shannon was a good keeper back in the days of u/16's. Used to open the bowling bowl his overs then take the gloves.

Mind you I did the same as well but with less keeping success.....

Parker was express pace as a teenager. But cant imagine him opening the batting in any grade. Had a good looking sister to ;)
What happened to that handy cricketer called Darren Jenkins from Pt Niell? I heard he went to Whyalla and dominated up there for the last decade. Also I met a lad called Jed DeVries from that way, does anyone know what happened to him?
Me and my skinny mate Gareth from Tumby knoicked around with him a bit one summer.
They are very confident of winning the footy premeirship that way this season.

That name rings a bell but I don't have a clue where he ended up. Pt Neil left the Tumby association around 2001 so I fell out of contact with most of those blokes.

Still does - Shawntee? Sharntay? I dunno how to spell it. Think she's got a kid or two now.
I remember him coming in at about 9 or 10 for PNCC and having a great eye but got out fairly quickly.
Still has a great eye, not sure if the body is up for pace bowling any more.

Other clubs have their own grounds to maintain already though. I think considering your club trains there twice a week and uses it as a home ground $10k is about right.

But well done LSFC all the same.... :ymsick: :ymsick: 8)
Hi, My name is Ron 'Bluey' Dunn. Did you know I played in the 61 & 62 Tasman Premiership sides....
