A great first round of Pt Lincoln footy. There are now more questions than answers!

Mallee's - Are they really daylight ahead of the rest of the competition??. I think by round 11 they will still be unbeatable.
Waybacks - Can they mantain the standard of round one? The ability of their smalls are still the envy of all clubs in the league.
Tassies - Lucky to get a win against souths. The Eastern Eyre contingent are carrying the club at the moment. Will need the youth of the club to stand up if we want to get a crack at mallee's in September.
Souths - Surprise package??? Maybe for some however their small to mids were very good against us and would have won if they could kick straight. White is a great inclusion into their midfield and they will win more games than those lose this year. Will need to practice their goalkicking!
Marble Range - A great start to the season. Always a hard and aggresive club. Currently in the top 3 and would like to stay there however will find it hard against the rest of the comp. They have always stood up against us and we would expect nothing but a close, tight, and hard game this saturday night against a confident magpie outfit.
Bostons - I didn't see the gane however the result says nothing but dissappointment.........again. Hopefully they can turn something around or it will be a long seasons for the Tigers.

Looking forward to round 2.

OMG

This is my thoughts on the matter...
1. If proven the club is found guilty then it should be expelled from the league forever. (I highly doubt this is the case, as those running the club wouldnt have had any idea and this may be the work of one or two people) *If proven
2. If proven any individual made an offer of this sort they must be banned for life form the PLFL ,the club and football. * If proven
3. If this story is fabricated then the club that 'snitched' on them need to be held accountable. These clubs had have there differences over the past few seasons and this tit for tat stuff must stop. If fabricated by a particular club ( possibly for payback) then I urge all clubs to make a stand against the snitching club at the end of the season and have them banished from our competition or we start our own competition.
4. Looks like everyone will be doing an inquiry now 1. The club. 2. PLFL 3. Police. 4 SANFL. Howw long is this going to take? Does the coach still coach in the mean time?
5. We must be patient and wait for the outcome of these inquiries.
6. The allegations of 'nine-year-olds' and 'getting hooked on drugs' due to this is highly doubtful and obviously needs to be proven.

Should be very interesting what plays out in the next few weeks.

I look forward to feedback. Post away

The national radio media personalities were talking about it on Sunrise. The story was called Grass is Greener.

What is going on over there?

Who and what clubs are involved?

First I heard of any of this was last night when I was given a heads up there was going to be a big story run tomorrow.

I only know two facts and will await the outcome of all investigations.

Fact 1 - U/17 coach is denying allegations

Fact 2 - Indigenous lad making accusations threw a punch at our u/17 coach after the Prelim final last year and was kicked out of the club, thus missing winning GF

Rob Muecke QC is doing an investigation this week. We will get to the bottom of it all. It could get ugly and this is not the publicity we wanted.

Does PL footy really need the Tigers, after last years efforts I'd say no. It's a bye anyway, might as well just call the day off and go fishing!![/quote]

I would expect a defamation claim to be lodged if this is the case.

Allgedly the club made the PLFL aware of this a couple of weeks ago. Its up to the PLFL if they wish to disclose which club made the allegations.

I dunno, tough one. The club in question could potentially have a case against the league or accusing club without actually being named - if it's proven false.

You would think, with so much at stake and the seriousness of the allegations, there would be some element of fact behind it.

All speculation at this stage for most of us though.

It's going to end badly for one club, which ever way it goes though.

Club has been named, therefore they have a right to claim against whoever made false (if proven) accusations
