As I understand it:

As Daniel has no junior/local club, he has sought to make Willunga his home club should he finish playing at South because this will makes his "points " value 0 instead of 4. Daniel is doing some work down there and has got to not a few from the club.

All good.

I heard he signed with Willunga but does that work? I know Victor got some on board before the point system came in so they'd be zero pointers but surely now it would go on where he played previously (ie South) before he starts playing for Willunga down the track?

As Willunga was not his junior club he would not be a 0 pointer. When/if he plays for Willunga he would be a 4 pointer surely?

Normally he'd have to play atlease 1 game in each season so currently he's a 4 pointer, if he plays a game this year then he's a 3 next year and so on. The only way around that would be if he was to get a doctors certificate and the league overruled the powers that be and award him 0. Would probably happen in the RMFL but not the GSFL surely.

How does the doctors certificate help.. He would be a 4 pointer.. I think that they need to play more than one game per season to drop the points as well... Just confused really as to what a Doctors cert would do...

There has been instances during the points debacle where clubs have applied for a reduction in points due to a player not fronting due to major injury - example a knee reconstruction during a pre-season game and the player is out for 1 season - clubs can ask for his reduction in points each season to continue; again - not all associations would rule favourably. Clarify?

Reading the SANFL reserves results and South beat 2nd placed Sturt. J Durdin 1 goal and L Durdin in the best players. Guess they won't be coming back to Tigerland for a bit. :(

Not named for South so looks like they are Tigers again. Ashton-Place named in the FP though.

Interesting Round 12 results.
Bays losing to Willunga by 3 points doesn't do them any harm, gives other teams hope that the premiership race is still open and pretty much secures Willunga a double chance come finals time.

Goolwa losing to Mypong/Sellicks have seen them drop out of the 5 whilst the Mudlarks have distanced themselves from wooden spoon territory.

McLaren have strung a couple of wins together, this time over Mt Compass to see them stay in the hunt for September action whilst Compass are on the skids, dropping to 7th and facing a task to regain a top 5 spot.

Victor had an expected win over Yank to quietly sneek into 4th spot for the time being. Yank now being almost certainties for the spoon after playing off in the GF last year.

Creeks after losing 5 of the first 6 games have now won 5 of their last 6 games to sneek into the 5 for the first time this year. Their 93 point drubbing of then 2nd ranked Strath was a surprise considering the condition of the Strath oval. Strath were depleted team today and apart from a very competitive 2nd term were outclassed by the Hawks who gained a much needed % boost after copping a few drubbings of their own earlier in the season. Straths hold on the double chance is now seriously in danger despite being 2 games clear as their % is an ordinary 48.39.

Gonna be a very intriguing next 6 weeks and can see plenty of positions on the table being swapped around weekly in the countdown to the finals.
Big game next week as the Hawks take on the Bays and to see if the Creeks are a serious challenger for a 3rd successive title and to see if they can reverse the 127 flogging  they received from the bays in round 4.

With 6 weeks still to go, i can still see a few changes within the 5.
Strath all of a sudden have become a bit susceptible ?
Creeks are certainly getting there act together after a very slow start but whether they can improve enough to challenge the Bays is problematical.
Very hard to frame a price for the Creeks for the flag from here. Unless they can snag a double chance which is still unlikely atm, it's very hard to win the flag. Yank in 1985 would be the only time ?
which would mean the Creeks are probably anywhere between a $5 and $10 chance :?

Having said that, i think i'd go broke if i were a bookie :(

E/Bay v Willunga was a fantastic match and Willunga deserved the hard fought win. Steele was the dominant big man on the ground and without Welsh The Bays were very 1 dimensional going into attack and the Willunga defenders were able to zone off and get numbers to the contests. Willunga were a lot harder in the 1 on 1 contests and that is where they won the game. E/Bay have been fantastic all year with their full 18 man press but when it came to 1 on 1 contests Willunga were dominant. Contested football wins finals so E/Bay have a bit of work to do in this area if they are to win the premiership. The free kick count was unbelievable as well with a lot of E/Bay players "playing" for free kicks and were able to fool the umpires on many occasions. When the game wasn't going the Bay's way there was finger pointing and lack of leadership and this is one area which teams should look to exploit. Wilson going down is going to be a big loss for the Bays and will test their depth with Perrie looking like he was playing on 1 leg for most of the game also.
