just alittle off with those predictions. but i can see were they came from. i think both games were upsets but any team had a chance

yep the donnybrooks roll on with their 2nd defeat of nuri this season. if nuri are so good in some board members eyes the donnybrooks must be rated a chance against freeling this week although would still be underdogs.

who do you think will be the key players for both teams in that game because that will be one of the best games of the year.

Team Plyd Won Lost Pts %
GC 11 9 2 18 74.8
SG 11 8 3 16 68.28
Freo 12 8 4 16 51.81
Will 11 7 4 14 56.7
BD 12 7 5 14 58.92
Nuri 12 7 5 14 51.71

The ladder as it stands currently. Willaston in the four due to their match ratio.

This week's matches:
Freo v Willaston -Probably match of the round. Hard to pick this one but a Freeling win should see them safe in the four.
SG v BD - Draw gets tougher for Barossa now having just played Freo and now coming up against SG and GC in consecutive weeks.
GC v Ango - Easy win.
Nuri v Kappy - Should be a percentage booster for the Tigers.

Remember Max there are bigger people out there and with your height that means 95% of the population.

Is it not a responsibility of umpires to protect ball players from such ugly and illegal tactics?
The two players mentioned appear to be untouchable and will no doubt continue to get away with it all year.

gonna have to agree with Ruben here.from what I have heard the disgusting tactics from freeling were on display throughout the game, and players (such as Caven) were caught several times by the umpires for hitting others in the face. What I think the umpires from the weekends game have to explain is why were the repeat offenders not sent off??

i think he means KIRVAN he is so dirty, but i dont think the coach tells his players to hit others due to there is only 5 to 10 team mates out at trainin throughout the week hard to tell the whole team.

I would have to agree with all who said that Freeling are a dirty team. I have seen many games this year of all different team and the games that I have seen were Freeling have played they seem to be the team that likes to go the cheap hit behind the play. It is true about the coach. I have been next to the coach’s box and have heard him tell his runner to get players to give the quick hit. They say a coach will coach the way that he played and he was a very dirty player. For the players of Freeling I will say that Antidog is right when he said the time will come that a bigger player will lay Max Doherty out. I have seen Max play A’s and what to ask him ‘why do you not do the same hitting of players when you play A’s?’ The time will come Max when you will not grow any bigger but the players that you hit now will grow. All I can say is LOOK OUT! As for the Ump’s it is very disappointing to see that they didn’t take hold of the game and stop this type of behaviour.
If I see it I say it.

its been a while since i have posted but i am in awe on how misinformed people really are about the redlegs i will clear a few things up for people and be as unbias as i can be. freeling 17s are a dirty team but there are only a select few that do this for no reason so dont think that the hole team is as bad as the few that have been named. as for bad mouthing a fantastic coach that has gotten a team that has been less than ordinary for the past 20 years into finals and looking to do so again, saying that he tells his players to hit people behind play and intentionaly take people out of a game is a load of $%^&, he has done wonders for this struggling club and for people attacking him with no proof or reason is not right.

everything that has been said about the players is true and i will do my best to stop this silly football that we seem to be playing and i apologise for any one that got seriously hurt from this, but we need to remember that it is football not netball, people do get hit and people do get angry and i know freeling are clearly the worst for this by along way and i have to see it each week but every other club cant say that they dont do it either.

What a great run home for the 1st semi playoffs: Hopefully there's a few cats amoungst the pidgeons.

wfc - Free/SG/GC/Ang/Bar
ffc - Wfc/kap/tan/nuri/bye
bar - SG/GC/Ang/bye/wfc
nuri - kap/tan/bye/free/SG

The donnybrooks have the toughest run home will need to win 3 of 5.

The legies look to have the best run and need to only win 2 of 4 which they will do.

Bar will need 3 of those which will be tough

Nuri has a good chance and will need to win 3 of four.

I think it's certainly possible to sneak 4th position with 9 wins this year.
I think Nuri might be drawn dead though given their average %. They certainly had to win at least one of their past two but again this season their inconsistency cost them. If Willaston beat Freeling this weekend I think they'll play finals.
It may come right down to round 18 though when Willaston and Barossa play off! From a spectators point of view I certainly hope it does!

This weeks picks

Freeling vs Willaston : Freeling will win and by about 6 goals

South Gawler vs Barossa District: South are a different side from the last time they played Barossa and South are playing good footy.

Gawler Central vs Angaston : This weeks training run.

Nuriootpa vs Kapunda: To get in the finals Nuri will need this one.
If I see it I say it.

South will win by 8 goals, the Bulldogs might need the kids in the A Grade this week

GC and Nuri should have regulation wins

Willaston over Freeling has made it a great last few games for 3rd and 4th spot. It is good to see the U17's comp getting stronger. In the past few years the top 3 team were set up halfway into the season, now it could be left to the last game.

Barossa gave South a run for their money. Looking at the score South only had a 3 goal lead and the 3 quarter break. Not sure about the South team but I was told Barossa had a number of good players out.

GC's game went the was we thought it would go.

Nuri got back on track and played they way they did 3-4 weeks ago. From the way they played Nuri have hit top speed at the right time? It was a great game to be at. Nuri have a great running game.

Yes the underated donnybrooks keep themselves alive and have a sniff of playing finals footy, 2 tough games in a row so it may come down to the last round if results go as they should.

Other went as planned.

Not sure how you can say Nuri have hit top speed they only beat kapunda after losing to bar and will in the previous 2 weeks. Your obviously a nuri fan.

What happened to the good ol days when a big shot young kid would be welcomed to senior footy with a test of his manhood by a huge bump, tackle, shirt front or clip around the ear?! If these young freeling boys are sooooo bloody hard to handle simply tell your boysto play hard relentless footy. Im not talking about matching fire with fire, Im talking about showing them up. We're all blood and bone, teach young lads to stand up for themselves correctly - it builds character and respect.

PLAY ON!
