Yeah Casey is a big unit. Now I’ve retired from clay pigeon shooting I might get along to a few games and see him play in the RMFL.
Are you prepared to pay the price? WILL YOU PAY THE PRICE?

Clearances were updated yesterday, a couple of notable ones were:

- Matt Parker to Imps from Port Lincoln (I realise now this was the player previously referred to as Matt Parks on this thread).

- Seamus McDonnell from Mypo cleared to amateur League. 2 players to Mypo though (2 x Fitzgerald, google search shows they're from Div 3 Amateurs).

Yeah, unsure about this one yet. He has a teaching job at swan reach and may look to play there but I really dont know as of yet. To be honest, I havent seen him at training yet but he could just be busy preparing for a new career.

Not sure how competitive we will be this year, we just cant seem to afford the big recruits so we will look at building a new base with the kids coming through I think.

Loss of 5-6 players is massive, and a few guys struggling to overcome injuries from last season will put doubt into my earlier statement saying we will stay in the top 2 or 3.

Is it actually a money thing, or just a decision to stick with the existing player list now that a few high paid recruits have moved on?

I wouldnt say high paid, not compared to what a lot of other players get in this league get.

It is a money thing, we cannot justify to pay big bucks for 'Gun' recruits and why pay $400+ for a average player when we could invest this cash into our kids. Ramblers simply cannot afford $1000 a game players and with limited points, why not save the cash for another time.

Hopefully some of the players we are in talks with want to play for more than just money but it doesnt seem to be the case. Even ex locals are turning down good money to play for the big bucks

I am not sure if its been mentioned, but Mannum have picked up 3 players from Port Adelaide, Jarrod Hales, Darcy Gordon and Sam Tonkes. Sam is probably the best of the lot, played in a reserves premiership as an U17 and then played in last years U18 premiership.

Hales and Gordon both good size.

I wonder how they'll fit in with the points? unless they are 0 pointers? Harvey, Pech and Thomas will all be 3 points, along with Hall who would still be a couple... Is that confirmed?
