Spoke with a guy who said he got an offer too go to refuse to play at meningie. Is the point system in place in this league ?

Despite all the hype it is really hard to see how Meningie can make the five if you look at their player losses and gains. If Motlop believes Meningie will go through undefeated as has been reported on this site then he lives in LA LA land.

Yeah there is, Meningie have 17 points for this year I believe. That includes 2 extra allocated to them given they are geographically a bit further away than the other clubs.

I wonder if Meningie think the cost of their 2001 premiership was worth it? They still have not recovered and I see the premiership coach has again ripped the guts out of the club by recruiting three of their best footballers to Kingston. Appointing coaches focused on personal glory is a dangerous game.

I stand corrected, but I believe a couple of the ex Bears players recruited by Kingston were living there (Kingston) anyway for work.

Saw a pretty fit looking Micky Sumner in the bridge the other day. Apparently back from playing footy in Darwin and looking to play for Tailem again. Wouldnt it be great to see him get back to his unbelievable form on a decade ago that nearly saw him get drafted.

Really?? They will easily make the top 5 IMHO.... I think Motlop and McLeod for the 4 games he rolls in will make a massive difference. I don't think they were all that far away last year and they will be better than the average sides this year.... And I feel bar maybe Imps, every other club seems to have lost some really quality footballers which most are trying to replace with out of town recruits which takes time to gel, so I think the league will be much closer this year in the fact that most sides are going to be around the same mark.... There will be a lot of closely fought games and that is where guys with the experience and quality of Motlop will make the difference and get their side over the line...

If anyone thinks that Motlops tweets about going undefeated are even half serious they are in LA LA land.....

Mypo will be the interesting ones. They weren't to far off anyone last year. A couple of draws hurt their chances & all their Kids have experienced another year of senior footy. They remind me of us in 2007, when we got Button & Morris back, & Viney, Sykes & Co.

As far as I can see they have only:

lost- Seamuss McDonnell & Cameron Wells

Yet Gained- Adam Eckermann (could really push Waite for the medal from SANFL)
Michael Oconner (Played Div 1 then to Lofty)
Fitzgerald x2 (Div 3)
Div 2 Ruckman ?
John Oxborrow (Solid Backman)

+ Corey Jones played 5-6 games last year , Scott Menaghetti played 5-6 (Both association players easily)

If Brad Martin doesn't play that could hurt them?

Good assessment of Mypolonga Goldberg. If Martin does not play it will hurt them to some extent but he has not been a real factor for the past couple of years. If they can produce a forward who can kick goals against the top teams they could well play deep into the finals this year. I think you could argue a similar case for most teams. Looks like being a really good year in the RMFL.

Well said. Need coaches that actually plan for sustainability not short term glory seekers who walk out on the club when there's no more money to spend on ring ins. Hopefully the Bears are starting to get the club back on track getting Motlop has to be a good starting point.

I noticed Mypo had a clearance in for someone by the name of Jarrad Schar from the Amateurs. I did a search, seems he's a goalkicker.

I posted last year I thought Mypo would take over from Mannum as the most competitive club for next 4 or 5 years outside the 2 MB teams, and with their INS for 2012 season, it would appear they have the depth now to be a very strong chance for top 3 position this coming season.

Myponga people, What about Danny Fegan, will he have an impact on the A grade this year after a disappointing 2011? I remember he captained a side up in Darwin and was a great leader with a big heart.
