Few more clearances up. Of note A. McCleod to Meningie as reported.

Lol yeah my bad although he might as well not play - beside possibly needing the money he'll hardly be seen in the bears camp.

Heard the gun recruit Imps picked up from Pt Lincoln is now not coming for personal reasons. Will be disappointing for the club but he was not actually factored in in the first place so I think they will cover it ok.

With all the numbers Imps have why still recruit? Whats the mindset around it Imps supporters?

At Tailem we have to recruit, numbers were just that low 2 years ago, but I dont understand why Imps still actively recruit when you could develop some young B grade players with some potential.

In fairness to Imps in this instance, I think Parker was looking for a game there and wasn't chased by the Blues.

Tailed had a good hit out with Peake, expect them to be big improvers this year.

They may improve but so will most of their competitors who will challenge them for a spot in the 5 (Meningie, Mypo, Jervois), whilst Mannum and Ramblers will still have a core of 6 or 7 real quality players. Most of the RMFL clubs could finish anywhere form about 3 to 6th or 7th, it is that even.

I noticed on the clearance list that the Eagles have put in a Clearance again for Wark and Bowen. Seems strange that they have to go through this process all over again.

Big Fulla - your comment is spot on with regards to Imperials. The club is very keen to promote promising B graders and talented juniors. They have picked up one quality player and probably lost 4 premiership players from last year. This is hardly going overboard. They still have 4 points up their sleeves but are unlikely to use them unless another points player like Parker walks in.

Wark & Bowen were only on temp clearances last year, Sturt wouldn't release them. Word also has it Vickers may be playing for them also.

Ramblers and Mypo are having a trial tonight, interesting to see how well this supposed giant ruckman/CHF goes as we will be lacking a bit in the talls department this year

GWW wrote:Yeah I've based my ladder on player depth mainly. Tailem are definite top 5, possibly top 3 contenders, however an injury to Wark or Bowen would de-rail their season. Also Newchurch has put in a clearance to the Riverland Independent, so that would be one less big man they would have.

Mypo will probably have the best depth outside Imps, thats why I have tipped the Tigers for a grand final berth.

Jervois I think will be right up there because I reckon Coulter will perhaps return and they are likely to recruit mid season as they have done in the past.

Mannum will probably drop, as will Ramblers, but both likely to maintain top 5 positions due to their 6 or 7 real quality players.

Newchurch is staying at Tailem Bend

Was looking at the Riverland Clearances, noticed there was another Clearance application for Newchurch to Lyrup.

I have noticed mannum have been chucking a bit of coin around, All to young unproven footballers.
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.
