should be a great game

Id imagine we may have some supporters who will load up behind the BSR coaching box again, same as last year

A bloke who had a few too many drinks decided his way of enjoying a day at the footy was to stand behind the coaches box of the opposition team and take pot shots at the opposition clubs coach all day.

Funnily enough most of his sledging revolved around the coach only having a 1 year contract and that he wouldn't be there the following year IIRC......in the end the supporter has been proven wrong as the coach went on again this year.

The supporters team won on the day but karma had its way with that team going out in straight sets losing to our club in the qualifying final......we then went on to win our 4th premiership in 5 years.

it was very tongue in cheek

i know what the supporters are like, and we have a few that have never been held to account for their behaviour, either abusing the opposition when the saints win or abusing their own players when they lose

Unfortunately, after a few beers the idiot factor can take over - lets hope it doesnt get to this as it should be a very good game

Yeah got 5th......tbh pretty proud of that effort. 38 years old, hadn't played aussie rules in over 20 years. The 4 above me are all ex a grade guns of the local comp. I know its not much more than country footy but the last ten years for me have been all about getting better at everything i do whether its being a father, an employee or sporting endeavors.

If i can have a bit of 'me' time for one sec. When i moved to the area i couldn't for the life of me understand how this team (BSR) from 3 tiny towns kept dominating the comp against the bigger towns like Clare, Riverton, Eudunda.

Once we moved out to Spalding and i got convinced to have a kick it become apparent so quickly why they have consistent success. Every single bloke out there from the gun a grader through to the pleb b grade demands self improvement. I've never been at a club where the gun a graders get around the b grade blokes more, honestly i cant kick which comes from my rugby/soccer background. Despite providing our gun forwards with helicopters at training not once did they ever have a crack at me and infact actually spent time to help with my kicking.

I can say the same about the a grade coach we have had as well. Whilst his focus is the a grade i would refer to him as more of a club coach...happily giving just as much time to a B grader as he does to the gun a graders. Makes a hell of a difference.

Whose winning this weekend.

BSR to go into both football grand finals as underdogs you would think....

Does the rain/wet heavy surface help anyone in particular, personally think it might help the BSR A Grade. Maybe slightly favours Blyth in the B Grade albeit they are a tall side.

Great effort by BSR to have A Grade, B Grade, A1 Netball, A2 Netball all in the grand finals.

Going to be a huge night in little old Spalding Saturday Night.

What a great day for BSR!! Took out the A grade footy and Netball.

B grade went down by one goal to a star studded ressies side.

My head is sore, what a year! 5 flags in 6 years!

I see the NEFL have opened up the question on facebook regarding 14 games or 16 games.

Personal opinion as an older bloke is i like the 14 games for a couple of reasons. One the club very few injuries this year which i attributed to having regular weeks off, without them i have no doubt i would have been injured at some point from playing on a tired body because we wouldn't have had others to pick from. B grade is struggling enough at the moment without adding the burden of increases for the older boys who make up a big part of the comp. Would be a sad comp if teams couldnt fill b grade sides. Many games were played with teams only having 15 this year.

Also from a competition integrity point of view i will use the b grade comp as a point in case. Only 3 games separated top and fifth this season. If you play 16 games and have your two extra games against South Clare and Riverton who won a combined 2 games all season versus a team who gets BSR and Blyth with a combined loss of 3 games all season and that has a ridiculously big impact on the competition ladder and eventual premiers.

All that said i can understand why the young lads want extra games and in particular if you are big $$$ recruit you are missing out on money you could earn in other comps.
