You posted in the Barrossa forum that that comp sucks, I would hazard a guess that it is better than Hills.

Barrossa has stopped sucking in two days, what an improvement! I don't play there but have a mate who played associaition last year for them and said Hills were terrible.

Ask your mate how they have gone the past 4 or 5 years

The Hills League is very strong and there are some well known quality players across both divisions. I can't speak for Barossa because I've had nothing to do with them but Tex makes a valid point with the win/loss ratio. However I'm not going to get into a sh*tfight over which league is better.

Hills have spanked Barossa every year apart from this one, when no one from the Top side in Central Div made themselves available and even the 2nd side didn't have their best players in the side. If Hills put their best available side up against Barossa every year, Barossa would struggle.

That's why Hills have an advantage over Barossa with 20 teams to pick from either Central (Div 1) and Country (Div 2). Tex comes from a Country Div Club, and has played in a couple of those association wins. The gaps in standard between both Divisions (Central and Country) is closing, with players like Brodie Atkinson, Michael Raidis and the James Brothers all playing in the Country Division.

No, that's certainly not the case and since I'm on the committee at the club I won't publicly divulge who was appointed until it appears in next week's Courier.

All is well at Nairne I believe and they should go OK...possibly the end of an era at TV with a few leaving, but no doubt there will be replacements.

As mentioned on main thread, Brett Kent is coaching Gumeracha.
He did actually apply for the Maccy job as well but when we contacted him again, he'd already signed on with Gumeracha. Hope that's not a reflection on us

Good luck to him if he can turn gumeracha into a competative side again.

Let's hope so. While it was always good to beat them, it would be a bad thing for footy if a club with such a long tradition was to fall by the wayside.
Still reckon the competition lost something a little bit unique when Eastern Ranges were taken over.

Waldo is a great bloke but the ultimate footy slut. I'm suprised he got another job after the Aldinga Turkey's but I guess winning down at Tant's shows he is a good coach. I reckon he'll take any decent left over players from Aldinga to Meadows.

The only talented players they had, were the ones Hughesy brought/bought along. Gums didn't want to go down that path (team of mercenaries), but Torrens Valley did. And unfortunately as history shows, money talks.

Incorrect on that part what happened was Gum has no Senior colts and what we did have was only enough to make a team and Mount barker had plenty of kids so Mount Barker sent them over to Gums. Also Lobey helped out with a few extra kids also this was to make a side.

WTF is Adam Walden?? Any credentials??

Tahu has let Meadows down before hasn't he??

Eastern Rangers Flying High?? Blast from the past. Ashton Oval was a 'One Kick Full Forward Oval' and makes Meadows Oval look long. Troy Kerwood was the last good footballer to come from Eastern Ranges, who ended up playing State Amateurs while at Athelstone.

I reckon Waldo played a year down in the GSFL. I think his brother Brett is at Yank this year. He is a great bloke too but you wouldn't want to play against him. Big bloke tough as nails and tends to go a little psycho.
