In the year of the Devil!!! I would have played against you then, in the Devils U17 side that Big O himself still describes as the best to have graced Hills Footy (I was the weak link!!!). Unfortunately, only 3 from that side still play at Mt Lofty.

Yeah, you did have a hell of team that year. Pity only 3 guys still at the club though. we had a reasonable team on paper but had an average year. I'm not sure if you played the year after, but you blokes knocked us out of the finals with the last kick of the day at Hahndorf :(

Anyway, dont want this as another lofty thread :?

no joke D.A you are a dead set knob...other clubs have had success in the past as well & major revivals but you dont hear them going on like dick brains.(meadows did win 4 A grade premierships in a row with mainly local blokes) in fact the years we won those we probably would of cleaned up loftys a grade pretty easy, & if you have the brain capacity to remember it wasnt that long ago.

so piss off & go back to hills central topic.

p.s i cant what until lofty fall from grace.

$1000 a game!! WTF?? Is GH going around again?? Have heard a few of them have finished up, and he may be looking to recruit more.

Eastern Ranges last game v Kersbrook at Ashton in either 96 or 98. I know we beat them by plenty, but we did lose the GF that year. And yes Troy Kerwood did go on to play state amateurs for W.A. as well.

DA, your Bs will truly become Super, when you've won 5 flags in a row. Just ask Kym Pearce all about it. (93-97)

gts that is a good question..the club had a vote during the year & has decided to stay put for now.
this decision didnt go down that well considering that a fair few of the senior side had bought this idea to commitee level that the time was right to move up, but when it came time to vote i think a few got stage fright & didnt go through with it. many people that voted didnt like the idea we wouldnt play kangy, echunga (trad rivals) boo who..the funny thing is many of our juniors wanted to go up but the club didnt see to take any of that into consideration, i thought these guys are our future. i just hope we dont loose to many young blokes in the future to other clubs or we might just face not making the finals. look i just think it was worth having a dig in central, you never know we might just do ok & the club has never been in a better position on & off the field.

yeah it wouldve been good to see you boys come up instead of IB or nairne, although IB ae doing well now. nairne never gave anything.. do you think that youd have to win one or even a couple of flags in the A's now to raise the question again?? or could it pop up at any time??

I was thinking it was 96, but Eastern Ranges definitely had a side in 97. Old age is playing tricks with the mind.

Know the feeling. I reckon the Ranges last year might have been 97 after all. When Kersbrook last went top in 97, there were only 7 sides in Div 2. I think this was the finishing order: Kersbrook, Maccy, Gumeracha, Birdwood, Callington, Eastern Ranges and the newly formed Torrens Valley. With Eastern Ranges folding, Div 2 appeared 'On the Rocks', but with the return of Echunga and Ironbank in 98, and Milang, Meadows and Blackwoods 2s joining not long after, the future of two Divs in Hills Footy was safe. It would be fair to say that now, Div 2 (Country Div) is as close in standard to Div 1 (Central Div), than it ever has before.

cougar i think the top five sides are close to central standards at least competitive but the bottom five could be anywhere.
