Shouldn't that be the other way round? Are Bridgewater that dried up of $$$ they give them the GF out on an oval that will attract 30 people?

It will be dry at least. I recall picking the 3 corner jacks out of my legs post games 25 years ago down there.

Correct. Luck of the draw with Ovals. Birdwood B grade played in a home GF a couple of years ago and Kersbrook did same about a decade ago. The 'A' grade is what it's all about. Unfortunately the HFL can't do what other country comps does and hand out to different clubs each year but instead need to assess what's best for the comp. Pictures of Lofty look interesting, Echunga roughed up and Birdwood couldn't host a junior carnival due to the state of it a couple of weeks ago.

Remember when the HFL picked finals venues based on who's turn it was, without considering playing conditions.

Tips for this weekend?

Qualifying final
Ironbank v Nairne - Last years grand finalists play off this week, think Ironbank by 10 points, Nairne are hit and miss this year, where as the two teams above them have been super consistent this season.

Elimination final
Birdwood v Bridgewater - Birdwood by 4 goals

Look obviously I’ll take it but I don’t reckon they should be playing a final at Birdwood. It’s not in spectacular Nic at the moment.

Also I was very worried about straight sets...

To play a final this week at birdwood is insane. The oval is obviously in poor condition and with more rain later this week its hard to see it being good by next Saturday.
