Its easy in hindsight but not sure how Kangies didn't have extra numbers outside 50 when Meadows dumped kicked it from defence, it was all one on ones and Meadows won them, defender got sucked to the contest and didn't impact which left the kicker out the back and able to hit the FF - a lot had to go right, and it did.

Who was the bunny standing on stock? Or was he by himself up at FF?

Not good for division 2 if Ironbank merge with Bridgewater and move into Division 1

Div 2 looks to be on its last legs

Seriously though would a combined Meadows/Macclesfield team work? If Div 2 really is almost dead what mergers make sense for the div 2 teams to come up and compete in div 1? They cant go up by themselves without a large population base like Nairne.

Birdwood, gums and brookers combine maybe Mt Torrens also.
Kangy, meadows, Maccy combine

Or maybe div 2 teams combine with a div 1 club like ironbank bridgewater.

It's not definite yet this merger will happen. Plenty of discussions left to be had.

The death of div 2 is just another nail in the coffin for division 1. The likes of kersbrook, gum, birdwood are close enough to the borossa league and modbury that players, supporters, committee members may just move on else where rather than supporting a central div club. Same goes for meadows, kangy and macclesfield they are close enough to the southern league that a majority of people would likely move on. I'm not saying ironbank and bridgy merger will happen but the idea of keeping not everyone but a majority of good community people in the hills would see a longer out come for Division 1 football.

What has happened at Bridgewater to bring up a merger? Rumours a large group of the seniors have left?

Where is the merger being talked about? Is it in the courier?

HFL have made it obvious that they only want 1 Division and that Div 2 clubs should be looking to the the Ammo's

Nothing in the Courier no. The last update on the IBCG facebook pages suggests they were looking at 3 senior teams in 2023.

Ironbank only announced last week they are going for a C grade next year due to good junior numbers coming up, from memory they had about 8 guys miss the B grade GF side so dont think numbers are an issue, from what I have heard the merger is being led by Bridgy

We have great Senior numbers at the minute. Had plenty of 18s come up over past few seasons. Issue is moving forward the Junior numbers drop away which is the cause for concern longterm. Going by the amount leaving Bridgey they won't have any seniors left anyway, pretty sad times for them.
