The HFL By-laws make these rules mate   .... They state that the Finals are given to all Clubs in alphabetical order every year unless an oval is deemed below standards required to host a Final. This years ovals (not in order of hosting) are Maccy, Meadows, Nairne, Birdwood, Bridgewater and Gumeracha....Hence Kangarilla and Kersbrook miss out this year! Next years finals allocations as stated in the By-lays should go to Kangy, Kersy, Maccy, Meadows, Nairne and Birdwood with Bridgy (Cally) and Gum to miss.... Pretty simple really although we now know that these By-laws are not always considered or followed even though they are the rules that govern our league!!!!

Tips for the medal tonight.
McGahey to win it
McDonald, hutt and Jansen all close behind.

Pearce to go back to back in the 2's. I'm a draw with fielding.

I think someone from Bridgey will win it but don't think it'll be McDonald

sorry tanka did not realise it was done this way but can not remember the last time nairne missed out. the concern i have with birdwood is the closeness of the changerooms and the communal showers could get very ugly

Change rooms and showers not the problem. The Velodrome of an oval is not up to Grand Final standard.

McGahey would be getting on a bit now wouldn't he?

Yeah 36-37 I'm guessing. Seen him play a couple times this year, always the first bloke to get his hands on it, and quickest hands around. Gives nairne first use at every contest.
The fella that come runner up is really young to I think, he's a bull of a midfielder if I'm thinking of the right one, there's two that both play in the midfield there, I'm pretty sure he's the taller one. Maybe McGahey is passing on his knowledge to the fella.

Congrats to all medal winners as well.

Congrats to Kersbrook's Nafe Pearce on winning another Mail Medal last night (2's) . He's catching the old man's tally now of medals.

Couger on the money ... Venue changed immediately after today's Prelim result. Next weeks GF at Kersbrook.

On the game, Kersbrook just didn't appear switched on today as demonstrated by a player rocking up to the ground 15 mins into the 1st qtr ....

Nah wasn't the 2 coaches u thinking of Carey. Was big Kevvy Koch. He summed up Brookers day. Gets to ground late, gets on ground for short period, busts shoulder, goes off again as had to go to hospital.

I agree, Kersbrook were very off. Second to the footy all day. And the one thing they're renowned for, their foot skills, were way off. Missing easy hit up targets they usually nail every time. Bridgey pumped them in the midfield as well and gave their forwards every chance to kick a winning score.

From the sidelines I thought Brad Lees summed up Kersbrook's day even better.

He nearly fainted every time he had to go for a contested possession, got frustrated to the point where he just gave away after-the-play free kicks, then decided to argue with his coach when being dragged - wasn't a great look all round and I'm sure Brett James wasn't impressed.

From what I've heard, Lees couldn't care less about his team. A bloke that would rather kick 6 and lose than kick none and win.

I didn't see him touch the footy yesterday!
