Can they play?
What positions?

Phillips is key position. Versatile tall, either CHF or CHB.

Jonker is a thinly framed wingman with pace and penetrating kick.

Both may have played association footy at some stage too.

Don't know Edwards

Are there clubs in Whyalla struggling to find enough players to fill their senior sides?

Nah, just hearing some rumours that some sides are struggling for senior players and was just wondering if there's some truth to it.

Was a great comeback by Whyalla and I think we will be seeing plenty more of the two Jacksons in years to come.

I see a few lads I coached in under 12s played! Toby Buhlmann, Tyson Henderson-Ewings and Courtland Stopp. Maybe one or two more. Great to see!

I wouldnt think so. New coach at North's this year that reportedly bought in some game plans that the league probably havent seen before and the other teams couldnt match it.

The league ebbs and flows. Centrals dominated the comp at the turn of the century, roopena went back to back, Norths and West have been the top two teams recently, the Bays played in a GF a few years ago. South's is the only side to not play in a GF for a while, their last one was in '94, but they did make a prelim a few years back.

I'm not sure if player numbers are down but the comp appears to being going ok.

I heard the standard picked up when a bloke by the name L.Pearson left town ;)

South Whyalla have had financial issues so that is probably why they haven't had much success recently.

Swap the G with a C and chuck a T on the end and it sounds more believable.

North's finally lose a game after their undefeated season last year.
West 11.14 (80)
North 7.11 (53)

Other results
South 14.11 (95)
Central 4.4 (28)

Roopena 17.11 (113)
Weerona Bay 6.5 (41)

Probably good for the comp for North to lose their first game. Good to see Souths start with a big win.

North had half there A Grade at a wedding, don't think they will lose again this year.

Big game from Timmy Walsh again today. Kicked 5 for Centrals and looming as the medal fav. Win the medal at Roxby last year
