IMO, if he applied himself with a bit more commitment, he would have played a lot of league footy. Sadly, a lot of players from the country prefer that way of life.

Didnt mind a beer either. :lol:

and we saw him obvisously past his prime, still playing rep footy for KI and more than likely 40+

Mark Rudiger did an excellent job tagging him that day and was still drinking with him at 1 am in the Queenscliffe.
I'm reading a book about anti-gravity. I can't put it down.

Goldsmith must be mid 30s now. Would still go alright in Div 4.

Toss up between Greg Tucker of Mallala and Trevor O'Hara at Port Wakefield during the 1980s.

I know it was a few years ago, but both would be even better players in today's game.

No Jokes here HeaveHo!
We obviously walked away with some admiration for Flogger for us to mention him in this post for starters.
Mark Rudiger goes down as a legend in my books also.. I have never seen a bloke with 1 arm and 1 stump with as much determination, skill and hardness as Rudes.. He is Wunkars games record holder and has been representitive captian.
A feat most 2 armed players will never achieve.

[quote="GWW"]..never to have played LEAGUE footy in the SANFL?

** I can think of a couple of contenders:

1) Peter Kitschke

* 510 games (221 consecutive games) for Jamestown 1948 - 1974
* (Credited with a total of 577 games including representative matches)
* Captain of Jamestown for 7 years
* Retired in 1974 – Aged 43
* Numerous representative matches for Northern Areas Association team
* Member of Premiership teams for Jamestown on 4 occasions 1958, 1959, 1961 and 1968
* Thirteen (13) time Best and Fairest for Jamestown
* Seven time Mail medal winner 1957, 1962, 1963, 1966, 1969, 1971, 1974
* Five time runner up for the Mail medal 1952, 1958, 1961, 1964, 1965
* Twice placed third for the Mail medal - 1960, 1970

Anyone that can finish in the top three for a mail medal 14 times in a career, winning 50%, the last at the age of 43 and over 500 games has to be right up there. IMO.
Between me and my brother we know everything.
