Remember playing against a B-grader from the old Eastern Rangers in Hills Country (then Div.2) who was 61 at the time. Little Miller Rankine was still playing pretty reasonable footy at around 46 at the same time for Mt Torrens.

I think Derek Gollan was playing in Meningie's B grade (RMFL) into his late 40's, maybe even 50's.

One of the Myponga guys in the GSFL, Hutchison i think is the name, was playing A grade in his late 30's/40's?? as well.

Played in a game with South Augausta in the Bs against Sollies. On the trip down in the bus to Pirie we worked out the average age of the team to be 33. Trevor Hill the wingman the oldest at 46.

Kym Pearce at Kersbrook at 51 still playing 'C' grade. Like the others mentioned a Super Rules Legend. Should Clock up his 500th next season for the Brookers, and played over 100 for the Gullies in his younger days. Still has the long hair and his 'Bruce Doull like Headband'. Ask anyone who's played Super Rules in the last 15 years, particularly against Hills, and they'll know who he is.

Agree Burne is a legend, also there is/was an old fella (he looks he is about 50) by the name of Robert King at Virginia who would of played in their recent B's flags.

The APFL has always had older fella running around in the 2's holding their own. I played with Eugene Warrior Snr at the Pies who was in his late 40's finishing top 3 in the B & F, Steve Guy at the Peckers in still kicking goals in his late 40's. Shagga Pym was still playing FB or even BP in the 1's approaching 50 and playing with his adult sons at the Tiges and Mick Ciccalella (Justin's dad) and Neil Veitch leading the way for the Eagles magoos well into their 40's.
