from previous years, too many of the EE boys party to much over weekend and arent performing on the monday, but that may have changed. There also used to be over last couple years a few players for them who didnt put their hand up to play because of some dodgy selections, same again may have changed this year. Im an outside now, so this is just my opinion.

fair call RB that was the situation in the interleague game against whyalla. but since then there is a real feeling given the draw tha EE can take it out this year. its been a while 1995 i think was the last time EE won it. they finished second last year so i hope EE can take the big step this year.

yeah, while i was in kimba, and then lincoln, the attitude had to change if they were going to have any chance. Even as recently as last year, i had a couple mates that refused to play because of some dubious selections. They figured if they werent going to be playing in the best side what was the point at all. I can see their point but it doesnt solve the issue.
Also they all love to party over that way, and i know they all have huge saturday nights and possibly some still also have a session on the sunday.
Hope it has changed because footy is strugglin in EE and a good result would boost the confidence of the league. My perfect scenario would be Lincoln v ee in final, both my old leagues, but i would be barracking for lincoln.

dirk digler. 1st, 3rd and 5th (groupA)from last year play each other once on saturday as do 2nd 4th and 6th (groupB).
then on monday
3rd in groupA plays 3rd in groupB

1st in groupA plays 1st in groupB for the mortlock shield.
with what position you finish this year determins next years saturdays games.

Does anyone have any history on the Mortlock Shield that goes as far back as the early '60's? My old man played for Kimba Districts FL, and when he moved to Cleve, County Jervois FL in the shield comp.

John Gascoyne from Ceduna has written a comprehensive book on the history of the Mortlock shield. Includes all team lists and team photo's from every carnival.

ian, 200 killer wasps is spot on johns book is a great read. but if you want to see what country footy is all about come over for the long weekend in june and watch the mortlock shield.

Lincoln side was read out about an hour ago, enough talent to have two competetive teams again, if we don't come close to winning there will be something wrong. I've looked at both GF and PL sides and even though GF looks awesome PL i think on paper would be stronger. Should be great watching

nah mate missed out, not suprised at all given the talent in the line-up. awesome side on paper, will be wasted if they don't get somewhere. A lot of good footballers actually missed out. Matt Dodd, Killer, Yohan Wagner, Reinke from Tasmans, Noddy, Sheehy, Rawson from Waybacks, Woody, Marsh, Singh, Harvey from Bostons, Story, Theodosiou, Kidney,Dunn from Souths.

Brett was unstoppable last week overloaded and I would suggest you do your homework before shooting your mouth off. Brett should have been in the side 2 weeks ago and its good that Willow has picked a side to win the carnival not a 'futures' side that has played kids and let us down in the past.

Of those listed above I would say Reincke, Woody, Marsh, Story are very unlucky and could more than successfully replace a couple selected, not that they are bad choices anyway. All gets down to the way the selectors see it, balance etc.
