The Colonel Light Garden Football Club would like to thank the Peak Football Club for the trail game today. The game was played in great spirits with some heavy clashes and fierce tackling from both sides. Both sides would be happy with their efforts and no injuries from today's game would have both coaches happy. All the best for the year and thanks for sticking around for a couple of coldies.

Good game of footy at Peake Saturday in windy conditions.

Did I see 'Carey' line up for the lions in the curtain raiser??

You did Torp, Unfortuatly I got injured this week. I played last week as well against Karoonda, That was far more fun.

Lameroo are a very handy outfit with some big names missing in the A grade, They will seriously take some beating.

Also interesting to see Pinnaroo beat Murrayville the week after Murrayville beat BDT the week before. That's good signs for the Mallee as its always been a bit of a top 3 bottom 3 type league.

Yeah very interesting
Long year for karoonda I think.
Other 5 teams should all be competitive.
Never write BDT off, always seem to grow a leg come August/September.

What happened to the golf career Carey?

Big game at Lameroo yesterday. Got physical at the end with Peake throwing their weight around. Our boys kept over the footy and played the game out well. One point of interest. Got me beat how pat gabb gets second best when Andy hunt clearly wiped the floor with him. Ridiculous. Go hawkies

Anyone else with predictions for finals?

Im thinking BDT have been either foxing or just coasting all year and will step it up a notch in finals with a near full squad available and quite easily take home yet another flag. Regardless of how well the other teams play I just dont see them having the talent or skill to get near the crows in a contested finals football environment over 4 quarters.

Would be great to see peake cause an upset just dont think they have the cattle though.

Finals kicking off this week and for me theres only 2 teams capable of winning it...peake and bdt. Bdt are favourites for me as they more often than not play their best footy come finals but would love to see peake make it through and take the flag at their home deck. Would be massive if they can but its a big if at this stage as bdt starting to hit form

20 pint win to BDT

Since moving from the River Murray League in 2002 that's 9 flags for the BDT Crows,2004, 2006-7, 2010–11-12-13-14, 2016

Prior to that the Amalgamated club never played in a A Grade grand final in the RMFL
Tintinara won 1 premiership in the Tatiara League between 1955 and 1992, prior to that, 3 in the Lakes District League
Border Downs had never played in a A grade grand final (I can remember as a kid the A's going 2 1/2 seasons winless)
North Adelaide F C : Champions of Aust 1972 : Premiers 1900, 02, 05, 20, 30, 31, 49, 52, 60, 71, 72, 87, 91

They're a very good side, Head lined by the 3 Richardson brothers, It still amazes me the things Josh can do when you can clearly see at times he is in pain such has his body been through plenty. Young Pat Barrett I really wonder why he is in the Mallee league the kid is a freak could dead set be anything he wanted to be, I heard he did pre-season at West this year was leading all stats at xmas and then quit.

It also comes down to knowing how to win, That may sound stupid but you need to know how to win. BDT have been to the big dance many times and Peake have struggled over the past decade, The game was at Peake, Peake were minor premiers if they were ever going to win one they should've won this one. With this being said I don't think Peake will go away and I'd expect them to be around the mark next year.

BDT remind me of the Port Magpies of the 90's they just get it done when they need to.

Is this fact? Karoonda certainly need a boost.

Corey would be a great get for Karoonda, Very good player I'd imagine he'd bring a few blokes back to the club with him.

Great appointment Corey is a quality player and person. I think he will do a great job as coach and bring a lot to the Magpies. We are sorry to see him go but wish him all the best.
