Are you saying that the rumours on SaFooty were off the mark??

I'm hearing ya! But actually in this case I think he either changed his mind, or was otherwise fishing for dough.

He'd never committed to Bute, as was reported, but was close to doing so. Such an important player for the pies.

I thought Balak might continue to improve this year but with the Michael boys leaving, Dawson moving away, Cox likely to leave it might be a long year...
Will Storic stay now and will Lammo keep playing to help the club or enjoy the retirement he keeps trying to have

Be interested to see if Catford stays also, as I was under the impression he returned late last year when Justin M took over the reigns.

Catford has been training at several clubs but was planning on playing with the Peckers. Not sure if he will play anywhere at this stage but the man is a mystery.
Storic and Lamond are staying. Not sure what Cocks is doing as he's travelling during preseason etc. Dawson moving mid season isn't handy but he'll be around initially at least.

Hearing a "big name" hawk is training with the Crows reserves. Going to be interesting to see how he goes considering by all reports he couldn't get a kick in a street fight last season in the plains league

Based only on what I've heard:
Virginia - haven't heard much but think they would be around the mark again. Would expect them to make the 4 but would not be surprised if they just missed out due to a log jam
Two Wells - again challenging for the four, another team that could be in a log jam. Depending on recruits could be right in the mix
Mallala - my pick for the flag at this very early stage
Hamley Bridge - big sliders with a mass exodus of players. Bottom two
United - big improvers with a new coach and a few big recruits to cover their losses. Another team that could be fighting for that last spot on the 4. My smokey
Balaklava - will punch above their weight and should challenge for a spot in the 4, although I dont think they'll challenge for the flag
HWE - big impovers from last season, though I don't think they'll make the 4 (more than happy to be proved wrong)

Impossible to say with any accuracy at this stage of the season, but looking forward to another very even year on the plains
