Brice returning to Balaklava along with some rumored recruits from SAAFL div 2.
Looks like Balaklava have done some very good off season recruiting to off set the loss of Lachy Michael

Picked up a couple from Kingston in the SE, as well as the return of favourite son Matt Higgs

Once the clearance's open I'll tell ya the rest of them! Plus the two priority draft picks we got in Buzz Taylor and Tait Nottle, and second year under the belt of Josh Appleby and Tom Rowe and things are looking much better this year. Rumour has it some ex premiership players will be making a come back this year to add some depth (and a shade of grey), so the Reserves should hopefully experience a win or two this year on the back of that as well.

speaking of grey hair, how's your preseason going Swamp?

Buzz not playing at a SANFL club?

All these guys will return for 'Rock the Bridge 2015' to support the club though.

All details here lads!

Swamp I thought you would be Wes Carr's number 1 fan!

$75 a head :? I do love Wes Carr........

They have just reduced the cost for Adelaide Plains people to $60. Gonna be a more attractive event for us all at the new price point!

So how much are we tipping Hamley will lose on this event? Could it be the end of the club?
I hope the day/night is a success but havnt heard too many people talking about it.
Kadina Footy club recently lost 95k on an event like this, i hope Hamley's outlay isnt anywhere near this figure

That's what makes it scary knowing Kadina have gone through this.

Big risk, big rewards. Hope they pull it off.

What sort of crowd do you need to make it profitable?
There's 75 going according to the FB page, but it could be far more than that figure.

$75 a ticket plus getting say $50 for food and drink out of them (trying to be prudent), is $125 a head.
Assuming 500 people go. That's $62,000 from tickets, food and drinks.
Taking into account the various overheads, that should be getting close to covering costs? Maybe?

If you take $50 for food and drink maybe only half is profit, so that brings it back to $100 per head.
Who knows what the costs are, but I would think you would need more than $50,000 to cover costs, especially considering advertising, bands, insurance, possibly buying or hiring a stage setup, speaker and light hire or buy, security etc etc.

I have been told a lot of the food and wine have been donated by surrounding businesses to help keep costs down (but not sure to what extent).

I would imagine they know their set break even $ amount and know X amounts of tickets is the break even amount.

The line-up doesn't appear as expensive as what it would have cost Kadina so I doubt they carry as much risk, although still risk all the same.

That's it. So, 500 would be a good result in my mind but I'm not sure if that's under par or not.

500 would be a decent turnout of people for sure. Hopefully they get this and that it is above the breakeven point.
Good thing for the donated drinks too. Would help heaps.

Let's just hope what happened to kadina DOES NOT happen to hamley because I don't think hamley have as much money to back themselves up like kadina do. Would be sad to loose a club from our league if it goes pear shape! Fingers crossed for them
