the competition seems to b one of the closest in recent history and without doubt one of very high standard. have your say on who the top 5 will be, the eventual winners up coming matches and maybe a mail medal winner.

It is a very even competition this year and a winner will be very hard to pick at this stage. Mt Barker at the best team at the moment even though they lost to Lofty on the weekend as lofty seemed to be playing a few A-grade standard players such as Chapman and DK. Should be a thrilling finals series

Lake, DK didnt play B Grade last week, and Chapman has been up an down in the last few years and would have played more B Grade than A Grade. Very even comp which is great, and should be a cracker of a finals series

OK Bazzw my sources must have been wrong then. Why were lofty so good on the weekend then, just playing better footy or lack of injuries?

Lofty far superior on saturday against the 'top team' lofty shoulda beat them last time, the scary things is there is probably about 4 -5 quality players to return in the senior squad so they should only get stronger.

Was carrying an injury and 50/50 at best to play, so named him in case so as not get the hopes up of someone who would then miss out.
We want Vaughn.

With Mt Barker not having their A Garde team in finals will they drop players back to B's to qualify them for finals?

I thought the qualification rules states a player must play over 50% of their games in the B grade and the last round to qualify for B grade finals ... correct me if im wrong?? So if this is the case I would suggest maybe 1 or 2 blokes from Barker may drop back in the next fornight but cant confirm as i havent seen the numbers.

We have had this issue come up plenty of times. If both teams make the finals A & B grade, a player that has been playing A grade all year can be dropped to the B grade to play, even though the player has not played B grade all year. I believe just to qualify to play finals you need 4 games under your belt. But there are special permits you can ask for if the player was injured all season or there was a specific reason why this player was not playing.

blackwood maybe but lofty lost to a uri side in a game they needed to win to finish top 3. you would think if they were going to challenge top spot they should have won saturday. apparently they have 3 or 4 players to make there way back into the side but i am assuming most sides wouldnt be at full strength yet. maybe uraidla will be the surprsie packet from 3rd spot.

yer great call, he is the new capitan this yr and has lead probably the youngest side in the comp to 3rd spot currently. he has had a great year and either he or luke schapel from uraidla will both be big chnaces.

What happened to Ironbank in the Bs this year? Know they lost one good player, must have lost more?

A loss of A Grade players from last season meant some B Graders from last season stepped up. Not enough depth to cover.

This weeks games:
Mt Barker vs Uraidla @ Uraidla
Mt Lofty vs Hanhdorf @ Birdwood

Thoughts on the Barker-Uri game?
Mt Lofty should demolish Hahndorf in the elimination final, does anyone give hahndorf a chance?
