Best of luck to them if that is true, but would be surprised, given the economic downturn in the area with the drying of Lake Alexandrina of late. A number of businesses really struggling there and house prices falling as younger people go elsewhere.

Milang was one of the oldest clubs in SA when they went into recess, around 2005 from memory. Played two seasons there, coached for one year and plenty of enthusiasm and spirit around the place without any doubt. Struggled badly for cattle more than anything else, but if enthusiasm won games, they would have taken a flag.

If they do, I know a place that has a brand new set of jumpers waiting for them to collect from the year they folded but obviously didn't collect.

I have heard this one also but have yet to speak to anyone who could shed any definite light on it. It can't happen this year at any rate as Country Div is finalised for 2010. However, I do believe they would have a full complement of support staff, ie committee, trainers, water etc if this was to happen as there are many who still carry the torch for the Panthers. Will see what I can sniff out.

They can reform with 400 players but they won't be in the HFL. Correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't the HFL now stated they will have no more than 20 clubs, which they now have. So, at the moment there is no vacancy for anyone, unless Kangarilla decide to move back to Southern!!

THE MIGHTY MILANG PANTHERS DEFEATED TORRENS VALLEY AT HAHNDORF UNDER LIGHTS LAST NIGHT BY 4 POINTS. They were ahead from the opening bounce and never lost the lead. They were incredibly tenacious, hard at the ball and looked fit and fast. A real pleasure to watch and a great victory for themselves and for true country football. Well played boys!

Congrats to the Milang Football Club. This is a step forward in the right direction... who knows what you guys can achieve. It'd be good to see Milang get back and field an A & B grade in Country Div sometime in the near future. With Strath and Langhornes forking out huge cash for city boys there must be a lot of nearby locals sitting on a couch not playing footy. Get off your arse boys and head to Milang... there a good bunch of blokes.
PS. Its also the best oval in the Hills League by a mile.
