Interesting article in the paper it appears to be poorly worded at the least.
" A highlight of the term was a piece of play when a full chested Jericho stormed out
of defence, won a 50/50 ball and in the process an opponent came off second best and took no
further part in the game."
No direspect to the aforementioned player but the kid is 15-16 and from what I understand
is playing his first game of A,s, he gets taken by ambulance to hospital with suspected spinal
injuries, spends the night there and has sustained a perforated ear drum.
Question 1 How is that a highlight ?
question 2 How does a full chested bump result in a perforated ear drum?

I have spoken to grub about his comment in the match report on the back page of the Times.

He did not know who the person was who 'took no further part in the game'.

He did not know the person went to hospital.

He did not know his age.

What he also said is he saw 2 players crash low down on the run with 1 player winning it and delivering well further afield to a running wingman who found a forward on the lead who kicked truly. He thought it was a good piece of Australian Rules Football.

No footballer should ever pull out of a contest beacuse they see a young player coming at them. In A grade footy everyone is equal and if Tasmans have a problem with this then they shouldn't be sending out players they obviously don't think can handle the rigours of A grade footy. It's serious business at the top end!!

And having seen the way Jerry plays without actually having ever met him I'd be sure there was no malice intended.
Hi, My name is Ron 'Bluey' Dunn. Did you know I played in the 61 & 62 Tasman Premiership sides....

PP,

Personally, I'd pick him, but I'm not involved in Mortlock selection.

I agree 100% with you westcoastpanther and I am sure that if the tasman player had have gathered the ball and spun around and kicked a goal and Jericho had have come of second best, I am sure the grub would have written that up aswell. sounds like sour grapes to me. play on!

I was at the game as no doubt the reporter was, my original question stands and further to
that why then did the reporter omit the reporting of the Souths Player and the melee involving
the Souths Runner who also got reported.
I am not saying anything derogotory about Jericho cause I am a fan of the way he plays,
and I am sure the junior player involved will bounce back and be ready for action.
I have known the reporter concerned for a long time but accuracy in the media
is his job . tell the whole story

I would, and will endeavour to find it tomorrow, but I haven't seen it.

If it had been made official as yet, I assumed it would have been in yesterday's Times.

Honestly, I reckon Hammond has been Bostons best, T20 Singh nowhere near their top 10, and Arbon is injured.

Tabe solid as always, but not really interleague quality.

Marsh is great, but hasn't set the world alight, and, to give PP a hard on, Joseph B would feel unlucky.

Biggest recruit ever (Monfries)... just no.

My thoughts only.
