Southern had too much overall strength. Eastern were killed out of the middle for most of the game, one dimensional going forward and were duly smashed on the rebound too often.

Big Sam Baulderstone did a great job early, although he makes running look difficult. Lol. Actually matched Pumpa in the air and around the ground.

Yeh big Baulders is a good unit!!! Very young also so has a bright future ahead. Haha, runs awkwardly is putting it kindly! :D

Was very pleased with the way our boys acquitted themselves, committed and were fierce at the contest. A great advertisement for country footy over the weekend.

With the 36 players in the state country squad the state will be well represented by the final 25 picked to go to Canberra!

That's good to hear. I'm biased, but I still think it's one of the best ovals in Country SA.

Big Jarden Stoetzer kicked 6 for the carnival, all in EP's last game (the alst place play-off... :D )

How'd he look? For mine he's probably not EP standard, but I was pretty chuffed to see Jesse kemp's name in the team of the carnival..

would these championships be better played in the middle week of the School Holidays?
Were many Netball associations having the bye last weekend? as the Riverland did. The SANFL could link in with Country netball Assoc and have association games linked in?
Has this been investigated?
Plenty of accommodation in Riverland available / would think that Pirie would be the same to accomodate football and netters!!
Also, maybe be better for local clubs to have middle week of school holidays off allowing for families to go away etc.

I think that would bring the weekend a bit close to the National Country Championships (starting next week).

Good point but I think it would be better earlier in the year, particularly so it doesn't get too close to the Australian Championships every second year. The Queen's Birthday Long Weekend would be ideal, as nearly every footy league has a bye then anyway, eliminating the perennial problem of some leagues not scheduling a bye.
Don't be scared. Now is not the time!

Good idea but that wouldn't suit the West Coast leagues. That is when Mortlock Shield is on and from what I understand that is when the EP side is selected.
