Please see below the selected South Australian team for the Landmark Australian Country Championships, to be held in Canberra from July 22 to 25.

Barry Pilmore will coach the side, while Leigh Kruger has been appointed captain.

SA DEFEATS COUNTRY CHAMPS FAVOURITE

SA has today defeated favourites ACT in Day 2 of the Landmark Australian Country Football Championships, held in Canberra.

SA is currently ranked in the top three in the Championships and will play NSW and Victoria 2 this afternoon for a potential place in the Grand Final.

The Australian Champs have been run and won and the Vics were a class above the rest of the competition!

I'll say that our group of players were extraordinary. To make the final when we werent on the oppositions radar when we headed over there is a great achievement and one the 25 players plus coaches and support staff can be very very proud of. We won 5 of 7 games and only lost to Vic Major!

Some outstanding individual performances throughout the week but I think our strength was our teamwork and ability to fight it out when we were up against it. A disappointing end but i know when I walked off Manuka Oval on Sunday afternoon I was a proud South Australian despite being beaten by a better opposition.

The first 4 (Baird, Berry, Murray and Bell) all correct. A different Andrew Mclean and a different David Clark.
