East Murray and Perponda have had a rivalry dating back to 1971 when East Murray first joined the Murray Lands Football League. In 1994 when East Murray went to the Riverland and Perponda to Mid Murray they continued that rivalry with an annual trial match. Even though Perponda disbanded in 2001 they still scrape together a team to continue their annual pre season match with East Murray.

The criteria Perponda use to select their team from 'past players and descendants' is sometimes called into question as I dont recall Rodney Maynard ever playing for Perponda. The most important thing however is the continuing of their traditional game.

Not country but Morphett Vale v Reynella is the biggest I have seen. Back in the 90's Morphett Vale vs Hackham had some merrit too.

During the 1980s it was Brown's Well and Cobby playing in a few grand finals they became very familiar with each other.

Added to this Cobby Golf Club would hold their annual opening and closing day at the Paruna Legacy Golf Day each year.

Poor Hamley Bridge! No rivalries in our league for them :D

Always remember back to the early 80's when Doug Hall had his usual too much to say and Yabbie Jarmyn smacked the living suitcase out of him in the front bar of the Mallala Hotel. Absolute GOLD.

Before Border Downs amalgamated with Tintinara and left the RMFL, the Meningie/Border Downs rivalry was pretty fierce
