See only 2 night matches scheduled in HFL Central fixtures ... guess the chance to watch night footy at a couple of grounds that have made the efforts with suitable floodlighting comes over the next four weeks in the pre-season 20/20 comp. Starts on Friday ... no doubt coach Madsen would be pretty fired up to take on his old club in the 'grudge' match at 8pm. May be also interesting to see Tailem's coach in action, given he had a bit of a lack lustre stint in charge of Echunga a couple of years back.

Despite the weather, Echunga was glowing brightly for Round 1with an excellent crowd on deck appreciating the debut of 20/20 footy in the Hills 8) .
Results: Plympton 4-7 d Hahndorf 0-4
Echunga 4-5 d Mt Lofty 3-6
Mt Barker 7-5 d Tailem Bend 2-0
Lot of youth on display and skills not bad given wet and slippery conditions.
Augers well for Round 2 next Friday night at Hahndorf, in hopefully weather more like summer!

Close to 1000 people on deck at the Dorf ... cars lined up back down Pine Avenue, great advertisement for the Hillsglow concept.
Round 2 results:
Plympton 7-3 d Echunga 4-2
Mt Barker 3-12 d Hahndorf 4-5
Mt Lofty 9-3 d Tailem Bend 4-4
Fantastic night, great atmosphere.
Next Friday night promises to be a bewdy at Heathfield.
