That is disgraceful and inexcusable. Very sad if club politics have infiltrated their C Grade. It's totally disrespectful of other clubs which make a serious effort to honor their nomination and be competitive. The Mount Barker Council needs to employ a good Social Sciences graduate to find out why such a huge town has a problem fielding 66 senior footballers on week-ends.

Yep, big culture problem at Mt Barker. Anyway, the new C grade program is on sportingpulse mate. From I'm told there will be a final five as the minor round now finishes 2 weeks earlier. So only one team will miss out on finals.

Thanks mate, just checked it out. So it's the survival of the keenest; should be a great comp from now on, now that all clubs involved want to be there. Mt Lofty, Ironbank, Uraidla, Milang, Hahndorf, Blackwood. A shame one club has to miss out
on finals given the effort and support C's have in a grossly under-rated competition. It's free and should have a much higher profile.

Gary Vivian coaches the Panthers. In his second year and does a great job, very respected. Callum is playing at Meadows, currently out injured.

Yep, agreed BB. But you guys have a huge player list to select from and city club training facilities. But a decent game nevertheless and played in good spirit. I thought we fought really well, never gave up. Would have stayed for a drink but so bloody cold, bit o trouble with the old leg, need a hot bath.

Milang led in the first half and only 4 points down at 3/4 time. Lofty by 3-4 goals in the end. The Panthers get better each week. Hardly any big men but incredibly tenacious and earned a lot of respect last night. Great mix of players age-wise, very gutsy team effort.

Blackwood over Hahndorf by 22 goals. Hahndorf gave it there all for the whole of the game but Blackwood was too quick, too skilled and had too much class for Hahndorf. Pity about the lack of a crowd and that the bar, canteen or bbq was open.

Good to get some scores BB. Most sites are very slow with C Grade results. Panthers are enjoying a Friday night off looking forward to Sunday v Uraidla @ Uraidla.

Curious BB, what did you think of the crowd and atmosphere at Ironbank? Also do you prefer the Friday night games as opposed to the Sunday games? From talking with our players the boys seem to prefer the Friday night games as it frees up their Saturday night and weekend. Also I think it gives the league a bit of a feature given not many other leagues have this concept. Still agree we need some Sunday games to be fair on Milang and Uraidla. Come finals time though I'd like to see all games played on Friday night with double headers in the first two weeks. Perhaps the GF could be played at a nuetral ground (ie. Mt Lofty if it were a Blackwood v IB Grand Final). Be interested to hear some thoughts.

We like Friday night games too. There's still enough time after to get the week-end underway. Works well for Milang because although most players are local, many work towards Mt Barker so can go straight from work. The Sunday games are a bit of a novelty and a good day out for the family. Friday night finals seems a locigal idea. Clubs without lights could be offered the BBQ or whatever to get some revenue.

Not a good day for Milang at Uraidla. Undermanned, hence injured players on the ground all game. Uri's too fit and too big. To the Panthers' credit, they didn't give up and the 14 or so fit players fought it out until the siren. Reckon Friday night games are the go. More players available, better atmosphere, less trouble gathering numbers etc.

The triple-header at Milang next Sunday should be good though. Always a good family day.

Gazza took the field on Sunday. Just turned 60. Couldn't help himself when numerous injuries caused a non-existent bench. Got a several touches, a couple of good disposals, definitely not the slowest bloke on the field. Inspirational stuff!

May have asked this before but do you need a clearance if say you played seniors at Mount B last game around 2006? Would be looking at a kick for Milang so would still be HFL. Is June 30 the deadline?

After that length of time, I reckon its just a registration, no clearance required.

results from 5/6/11 @ Milang

Uraidla defeated Hahndorf by like 15 goals

Mt Lofty defeated Ironbank by 4 goals

Blackwood defeated Milang by 9 goals - Afew undiscipline acts by some of the Milang boys today put a sour-note on a game which was of a pretty good standard.

Yep agreed BB. The offending boys know that and have accepted the consequences. It won't happen again. An otherwise good standard game. Poor kicking cost the Panthers a potentially close contest. Good crowd and an excellent day out.

ahh thats good to know, no-one likes to see that happen during a footy game. Seems like the whole town turned out to watch you there today. When you kicked the 2 goals in the last quarter it was good to hear alot cheering and of car-horns beeping even-though i was on the other team. a great atmosphere. but I would suggest to the HFL starting the game 30-minutes earlier so that its not dark at the end.
