Port Elliot FC

I'm just wondering if anyone in SAFootyland knows how long Port Elliot's infamous win drought went for in the 90s?
Any help will be gratefully accepted.

Not sure of the answer to your question exactly. They struggled for a lot longer than just the 90s though:

Year Position
1978: 9
1979: 10
1980: 10
1981: 10
1982: 9
1983: 7
1984: 8
1985: 9
1986: 10
1987: 10
1988: 10
1989: 10
1990: 10
1991: 5
1992: 6
1993: 4
1994: 3
1995: 10
1996: 10 0 wins
1997: 10
1998: 9 1 win - beat Goolwa in round 18 (also only won 1 game)
1999: 10 1 win - beat Goolwa in round 10
2000: 6

I might have some more info I can dig out for you.

Sad - when you consider this:

Summary Of Premierships: 24 Victor Harbor; 11 Port Elliot, Strathalbyn; 9 Willunga; 8 Encounter Bay; 6 Goolwa; 3 Langhorne Creek, Mount Compass, Myponga, Yankalilla; 1 Bay Valley Rovers, McLaren

Similar story in the other grades too.

I was playing for Strathalbyn in 1994, and the third-to-last game of the season (from memory), was against Pt Elliot. Both the B's and A's won that day by Pt Elliot, if that helps at all.
Can you guess where I'm calling from, the Las Vegas Hilton...

There was one year when they were going quite well (probably 93 or 94 going by the above finishing positions) when toward the end of the season rumours came out about the club telling the players they werent going to be paid as the $$ had run out and there were some unhappy players. There was talk of them not playing the season out etc - cant remember if that eventuated. They were very competitive at that time - Next year they went bottom again though. I played in the game at Victor when we lost to PE under Tony Symonds - we had to do laps after the game. Became rather infamous as PE said it was disrespectful to them.
