Brand of football used for which league

Just wondering if any other leagues use Ross Faulkner footballs apart from Great Southern Football League.

In my playing my days i didn't mind them once they were 'kicked' in but they were mongrels early in the game.

What do other leagues play with? Sherrins mostly? Any leagues use Burley footys?

I got told last week that the gsfl are the only league in sa to use them but The faulkners have to go. They start out being pointy and end up being round within 1 hour of footy. Had a crack at the burleys in a trial which were shocking as well. Sherrins are the answer. We won a heap through Ryan griffens super goals and use them for training. Great shape and last longer

We used a Sherrin in Eastern Eyre yesterday.

It also had a big Motor Accident Commision logo on it and two smaller Community Football Board logoes on either side of the ball.

Unfortunately the APFL uses Burleys. Would much prefer sherrins.

Indy's use sherrins. I played in a game in SAAFL once and we used a Burley. Got rid of it after the first quarter, it was terrible. Love a fresh sherrin, but they do go round after a while.

slightly off topic here, but i rekon i seen, in the '09 SANFL GF, they alternated between Burley and Sherrin each quater. i mentioned this to my mate, and after telling me i spend too much time taking note of the small details in life, he told me i must be smoking crack, coz they would never do that.

but having read WAGY's post, i think i may have been right. If Centrals use Sherrin, but Sturt used Burley's, maybe they came to a compromise and agreed to alternate the brands each quater? could this be right?

Usually they play a half with each.

In the previous league that I was in for my whole life we used faulkners, started playing in a new league this year that uses sherrins. I'm pleased to say we managed to kick a drop punt for the first time, a huge feat for myself! I know a good tradesman doesn't blame his tools but faulkners are dead set s***house in comparison!

Ross Faulkner used to be the best footy around but are now like dinosaurs, almost extinct. Burley are crap and Sherrin are heading the same way, they turn in to basketballs much quicker now.

GSFL use Faulkner brand, noone else is game.

More like the worst football around, heavy, pointy, like a medicine ball when wet.
Sherrins are the best football hands down.

Have to say I've been in several different leagues, all alternating between Sherrins and Burleys.
Sherrins are by far the more consistent footy. Burley's tend to be lighter and slipperier.
Mind you, I've never played with R Faulkner's, only kicked a few and it was like booting an anvil around.

must keep in mind there are two types of shirren the "Kangeroo brand" which is a great footy and the cheaper "MATCH"ball which tends to loose it's shape quicker,best to spend the extra 20-30 bucks i think!

as a bloke whos only attribute is kicking, sherrins are hands down the best. faulkners are rubbish and burleys are far to light to get any penetration. the sooner the GSFL makes the switch to sherrins the better.

What does your league or association use - the Sherrin, the Ross Faulkner or the Burley? Which do you think is better?
I can't kick any of them very well so I don't really care but I'm curious to discover if leagues choose a particular brand because of sponsorship pressure or just plain historical preference?
