SA Country Championships - Port Pire July 9/10

Postby Sky Pilot » Sun Jun 26, 2011 11:08 pm

We all know Southern Districts will start favourites here but how does your Zone look? On this thread I thought it would be interesting to post your ideas and opinions about players, Zone's, venues, umpires etc.
I'll start by saying I've seen the Central Zone squad and it contains 39 Hills Districts players!
Eleven from APFL, eight from NEFL, 14 from YPFL. Justin Zwar from Moonta is coach

Eyre Peninsula will be without a few from injuries, and realistically, it'll be the same old EP come the Champs... Ordinary on the first day, win their game on the last against the other struggler...

So the wooden spoon could be an all out battle between EP and Northern!

I'd expect the bolded players to get a game, and Neilsen if he wants to play, not sure if he'd be keen though.

dont know how strong the Eastern Zone will be this year. Have heard that players that didnt m ake themselves available for the Riverland Interleague have not been invited to participate - some Players this would effect include Andrew Backmann / Ryan Bennett / Jamal Liddle / pete Smith / Michael Bratton.
Interesting call!!!

Good call though. if you refuse to represent your league, why should you be rewarded by being able to represent your zone? Might make a few of these boys pull their finger out next year.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

Ben Yeomans made Port Adelaide Magpies League best players last week. His brother perhaps?

Did this guy get a huge suspended sentence or something several years ago? Used to play for West Augusta?
