Leagues & Associations that produce Budgets

Postby Benchwarmer » Mon Aug 15, 2011 3:42 pm

I am trying to find out which Leagues and Associations produce Budgets, which leagues get clubs to do them and which Leagues don't do any at all throughout the season.

If you know which Leagues produce them (weekly, finals only, never) or club productions, please feel free to add it to the list below.

Far West - Finals only?

Good to see the APFL producing one - does anyone know if the Port Lincoln produce a Budget?

Yes Benchy, $1 every week, and much to the chagrin of many, it is riddled with errors...

Somehow I'm not sure you'd expect too much more for $1

It's called The Informer in the APFL, think the Barracker might be another league?

So it is OnSong, my bad mate. The Barracker was running the show once upon a time, admittedly well before your time in the APFL. Sorry BW.

Re MSE's budget, they have on their website copies of last season's budgets.

None from 2012 though by the looks of it.

Does PL footy really need the Tigers, after last years efforts I'd say no. It's a bye anyway, might as well just call the day off and go fishing!![/quote]

What are the cost of Budgets?
Personally I reckon either $1 or $2 is enough, its mostly team lists copies and pasted from somewhere like Sporting Pulse with one little article in them (usually with a little humour and not much substance). Its all you need but anything more than a gold coin is too much.

$2.50 for the APFL, about the right price IMO. Pretty informative.

Just noticed this thread. Northern Areas has the home team produce a Budget sold for two bucks. They are all good too. Some clubs go to a bit more trouble than others.
And I'm pretty sure North Eastern does excatly the same thing. I reckon both flirted with the Barracker ten or 12 years ago but came back to their own in-house productions

I think the Barossa Light and Gawler "Barracker" is $2.50. Not too bad a price as it has a good deal of editorial and it's readable now that Robert Laidlaw is proof reading it. The typos in it used to be horrendous and at times turned paragraphs into gibberish! Much better now though.

Hahaha, they still occasionally pop up, but all in all, it's a good read for $3.
