Mail Medal predictions.

Postby GWW » Thu Aug 10, 2006 12:26 am

Several threads have included discussion on who will win the Mail Medal in the various leagues this year, so i thought i'd start a thread designed for discussion of this topic.

Of the Leagues that i know anything about, my predictions/guesses would be:

River Murray - Gerardy from Imperials

Great Southern - Mitch Portlock from Willunga

Mid South East - Tim Stringer from Tantanoola (although will have several players from his club taking votes from him)

Kowree Naracoorte - Cooper from Kingston (unusual for a full forward to win a MM but Cooper has had a huge year so should poll well)

Hills - Trezinski from Mt Lofty seems to be the consensus from most Hills followers

Southern - Vick is the popular choice for many following this League

Riverland - Tyrrell should poll well from what i can tell

Does anyone have any predictions re the Leagues they follow closely?

Hills Central - Treszinski...but Indian could be right, King will go close. Lofty players may share the votes. But I'll stick to Trigger.

In the mid west competition on the eyre peninsula the medal will be fought out between big ruckman darren guidera from the west coast hawks and western districts centremen scott feltus (has already won 2).

Straight shooter - I'd suggest Josh Richardson will win the Mallee title.
Been in the best players for the past five weeks in a winning side.

Old Rocket Maynard is leading the Player of the Year in the local rag, The Border Times.. Has Josh Richardson missed too many games this season and have too many team mates taking votes off him?

Possibly related to the Feltus who incurred large suspensions whilst playing at Jervois and Mt Compass??

good point - but i would have thought the same could be said for the ol' red head in terms of players taking votes off him.

hmmmm - who else?????

Luke kirkbright gets a lot of mentions in the besties, but Murrayville have been realllllly bad this year.
Another from a struggling side is Kenton Heym who always seems to be in the best for Peake.
But due to the beltings those sides copped - you'd think the majority of their votes will be ones.

I think the medal will come from the top three sides. Luke Hocking/ Todd Boughen at Karoonda?

No one from Pinnaroo has stood out - although Sunny Vogt's shined in the last part of the year.

think you are talking about a different Scott Feltus. The one EP was talking about plays for Western Districts over at streak bay, about 27/28. Used to play for Port and I think won an A2 medal in the saafl playing for shocs.

Feltus' team Western Districs have not won a game, it will be interesting to see how he polls. Best player every week for WD, as he has no one to take any votes off him.
Troy Olsen from Wirrula is a chance, although whacking blokes and abusing umps wont help his cause.
