What are the best games you've seen of local footy?
HFL Central Div. Grand Final 2011 would have to be up there.

2010 HFL Elimination Final: Onkas v Mt Lofty

One of the best games I've seen.

Close game all day. Onkas up by 13 pts at half time and then got out to about a 4 goal lead half way through the quarter. Then Mt Lofty moved Flash Gordon from CHB to FF (a master stroke). Single handedly got them back in game. With (I think) 3 goals in bout 10 mins. Mt Lofty were then up by 1 pt at the last change.

Onkas kicked the first goal of the last quarter to get back in front, then it was some of the most competitive footy I've seen with neither team able to get on the scoreboard.
Mt Lofty finally managed to snare a goal (through McDonald) to hit the lead with only 3 mins left in the game to look like they would win it.
Then with less then 1 min to go Dingo Tanner weaved his way through some traffic to kick what everyone thought was the winner for Onkas.
Mt Lofty then won the centre clearance and bombed it long into their forward line where McDonald managed to rove a (WC v Sydney 05 GF) type pack contest to snap through a goal.

Final Score: Mt Lofty 12-8-80 def. Onkas 12-7-79

Agreed on HFL GF 2011. The game had everything IMO!!! One I'll remember for a long time, unfortunately for all the wrong reasons result wise.

It's hard to describe how the game unfolded but those who were lucky enough to be there will know what I mean. The intensity was high, skills were good, atmosphere was unreal. The drama and excitement cannot be put into words.

I saw an association match at Crystal Brook in 1999 between Northern Areas and North Eastern, the match had two lots of extra time and scores were still level, a really high skilled contest that had everything bar a winner.

Boston/Tasman under 17 grandy this year would go close for me.
Tasman having beaten Boston in an earlier final, and being ahead most of the day.
The last score for the match was a goal that put Boston ahead... By one point... :D

The 08 and 09 Hills Country Grand Finals at Maccy Oval between Kersbrook and Torren$ Valley were worth the entry fee. On both occasions Kersbrook entered as the underdog and took the chocolates in 2 very tough and closely contested games (a couple of very memorable performances by Roger James against highly fancied opposition).

I played in the losing B Grade GF that day (3 pts) - dirty one for Waikerie. :(
Agreed though, Berri were on fire in the second half and Waikerie had no answer for the midfield.
We want Vaughn.

2001 sgfl grand final wolves defeating south in the highest ever total grand final score in the leagues history with both full forwards kicking a bag. One with 9 and other with 10 and none of those forwards were best on ground. Today to this date it is still rated as the leagues best ever grand final.

The Echunga V Birdwood game in 2011, first round played at Echunga, was an absolute cracker. After spending the last several years down in town, this was my first game I saw of Country footy upon my return. It had everything, skillful, physical, fitness was phenominal. Seen quit a few country games in my time, and this was no doubt the best I have seen.
