Also have you heard of the probability of up to three clubs joining your ranks next season?

Sorry if I've taken the shine of finals talk etc.

Friday nights and Sundays mate, depending on where it is played.

The C grade comp is played on some Friday nights, a couple of Saturday evenings after Div 1 games and some Sunday arvos as double-headers. Blackwood are talking of fielding a second C side. Callington have been invited but have resisted so far. I'm unaware of a third club expressing interest. Eight teams in C's would add even more interest to an already high standard comp which gathers more support every week.

Ironbank over Uri's in the early game today.

Milang over Mt. Lofty by 11 points in a very hard-fought contest with the Panthers ahead by a goal throughout. Could have done without the head-high tackles resulting in two Panthers well and truly concussed and a few team-mates lucky not to be. It was well worth the $2 at the gate to pay decent umpires who did their best and were generally consistent and decisive.

As it stands now Uri's are over.
Next fixture is at Ironbank under lights this Friday night. Blackwood play Milang. Ironbank play Mt Lofty (loser is out).

Winner of Blackwood and Milang straight to the Grand Final. Loser of B v M plays the winner of Ironbank v Mt Lofty in the Prelim at Heathfield under lights on Fri Aug 10th).

Grand Final at Blackwood under lights on Fri Aug 18th.
Players win awards. Teams win games. Clubs win Premierships.

Just out of interest Htr, is your club going to look at making any sort of formal complaint to the league about yesterdays incidents? Your injured players were only young lads playing the ball and it was pretty sickening to see. Hopefully they are ok but didnt look too flash. As a spectator from neither side, I have voiced my concern. On a better note, we thought your boys were very impressive indeed and fully deserved the victory. Bet your trainers ran out of ice though. Good luck Friday night.

An excellent crowd b39. Plenty of support for all the clubs, especially the Panthers. C's have been a real success story this season and can only get better.

I wish we knew the answer to that K2. We were hit very hard with injuries against Mt Lofty last week and went into the game without 3 of our 5 best players. But no excuses at all. Couldn't kick, couldn't mark, didn't talk, didn't man up, weren't there at the fall of the ball. One of those games when everything that could go wrong did.

Full credit to Blackwood. Their very young side wanted to win; they played the ball and were rewarded.

Rest assured we'll learn from it and get ourselves back into the headspace required to beat Mt Lofty. We've already done it twice this year.

So does this mean Devils have a home prelim final htr? If so, what time? Good luck to your boys, what a good effort this year and hope you can field your best side and turn it all around.

Grand Final teams have been decided after Mt Lofty very decisively defeated Milang under lights last night at Healthfield. Full credit to the Panthers for never giving up until the final siren. Huge effort by Milang coming from no-where to challenge Div 1 sides which have a wealth of depth. Let's hope C's continues in its' present format next year. It creates a mostly level playing field, encouraging clubs such as Milang to exhibit solid sides while not belonging in either Div 1 or Div 2.

Hopefully Callington will see sense and field C's only next year. Here is a great opportunity to keep the club afloat.

Grand Final Mt. Lofty v Blackwood under lights at Blackwood Oval, Friday night at 7 pm. Punters should expect a good hard game with C's at it's best. If you have doubts about the strength of 'C' Grade in the Hills, be there.

Just saw the score, that was a hammering. What happened between a month ago & the other night?
It's healthy to have Milang & great that they can field a side, Callington would benefit from taking note of this. A swift hand from the HFL wouldn't go astray either. I don't reckon we'll know the true make up of C grade comps until really close to team nominations as a lot of clubs these days are scratching for numbers. How did Mt Barker not have a C grade side?!

Lots of things happened JQ between a month ago and the other night, but no excuses. Basically Milang are a day-time, dry ground side. Most of our players are local and have to work hard to get to night venues on Friday nights as it's well out of our way. We're not used to slippery footys, bog and rain but obviously we have to work on that. Depth is an issue for us as we have a very consolidated and dedicated local playing group, meaning we can't collect fall-out players from A's and B's if we need to cover injuries. Last Friday night we were without our best three playmakers; obviously we've relied on them too much and need to learn from that. We were pretty happy though, in that we finished third being the only club not in Div 1. Mt. Barker had C's but pulled out at the beginning of last season. Apparently they didn't want to play on Sundays.

we used to have a pretty healthy c grade side but then about half the team moved away or moved up to As and Bs to fill the spots of other people who left
