Eastern is BLGFL, Mallee FL and Riverland FL. Should be a very strong combo you would think

Depends, apart from Tanunda usually the other Barossa clubs are not interested

Oh yeah Jim I agree. It kinda makes the Zone championships a bit irrelevant and/or lightweight when teams can't elist their best players. The whole thing needs an overhaul of sorts. Speaking of lightweights, queue the thread on Community Football Board

Input from the lesser Broken Hill and Mallee League's are obviously minimal, Riverland is not what it used to be. So the reliance of the BL&G to provide players is strong, but you could say only 3-4 of these players are the cream from the BL&G.

Whyalla fancy themselves as a top notch league but they only furnished four players to Northern Zone. In fact their representative on the NZ selection panel didn't go to the meeting (s) because he refused to drive in the dark. Seriously a fact I believe.

Centrals were 18 points up with about 7-8 minutes left before Eastern kicked late goals. What made it even better was that the scoreboard at the end of the game said it was a draw. I think it was Westhoff from Eastern was strechered off late in the first half as well. Ambulance came and I think was still there when the game finished.

What happened to Westhoff?

Have heard he has broken his ankle.

Southern 10.6.66 def. South East 8.12.60 in the grand final.

Only saw the last five minutes but heard it was a great game and if South East had of kicked straighter, they would have won it!

the extravaganza swings back to Pirie next year then its up for grabs from 2014 onwards. I suspect not many towns would be capable of hosting it given that several sets of change rooms are needed not to mention suitable meeting rooms and surrounding five star hotels and restaurants for the CFB entourage to blend into.

This may work against any Naracoorte bid.

Would be good to have it here though- I'm ex-Port Pirie and thoroughly enjoyed the weekend when it was in town.

I know its been done before and failed but I am of the view it should be held in Adelaide. And planned to co-incide with the netball country carnival. Then it may work.
