Does anyone know if the point system for GSFL has changed for this year (previously based on the average minor round wins over the last 3 years)???

On the website http://www.foxsportspulse.com/assoc_pag ... sID=165754 under the Constitution and bylaws the Appendix C regarding player points has been cut out and the Player Points page http://www.foxsportspulse.com/assoc_pag ... sID=165754 just points to the SACFL regs on APPS which talks about 'having regard to the premiership ladder in the previous season' (which can be adapted/modified and approved by the CFB).

Any news on the weekend trials ?
McLaren looked good Powell a massive in along with ellis in the mids gave them plenty of drive. Laffin rucked well, gave them first use and they moved the ball extremely well.....finals bound?

we played Reynella and it was a good day

Junior Colts - we won by 10+ goals
Senior Colts - they won by 6-8 goals
B's - they smacked us 16 to 3 goals
A's - was a pretty god game of footy. I thought the standard was quite good. We were never really in it and probably the scoreboard was a bit flattering. They didnt seem to rest a lot but I think there was about 5 effective tackles from both teams in the 2nd half. Final score I think was Reynella 14-12 to GPE 10-5. Best for us would have been Ferguson (4 goals), McKinlay, Lees. Played 4 colts and I think 3 others who had never played A's and they were pretty good. Doughty dominated for them and their big fellas were pretty good. They had a very raw big bloke who looked brilliant and 21 (might be Ciampa?) was very good. As per usual, the standard line of "we had 8 out" comes in to play.
You can love football, but it wont always love you back!

Strath play there first trial at torrens valley Saturday. Will be interesting to see if both Ellis boys lineup, will be a handful to stop up forward if so.
Very sad news for mitch portlock & Willunga football club to do a years worth of rehab & to do knee again first game back terrible stuff. 6 flags great career mitch.

Daniel batson never left he is working up in Darwin so played in there summer comp & won a div 1 flag, 2 in one year great effort. I guess the reigning premier is favourite the next year most times "WOW" but i don't think we have heard enough about other clubs just yet early days.
Judging by the clearances gone thru so far:
Enc bay have lost 5 players from there starting 18 in gf.
Hooper, Neely & Lindsay all to mypolonga, Luke Ellis & pat taggart some key outs!
Haven't seen strath/Keith premiership player tom reddens clearance to bays in yet ?
The Creeks have lost 4 very handy players
Kellock, butler, Derham (Norwood) & Hately (retired). Haven't heard any ins yet?
Mclarens the big movers is my tip maybe top 3 with parry & Powell playing all year big inclusions.
Never underestimate Willunga with murgatroyd now coach I'm sure he will have some contacts from woodville/west torrens that haven't shown up yet?
Great that Footys back!

I agree that those 3 are going to be hard to beat. I just don't see the same depth as Thompson, Kane x2, Lewis Snr, Wilson, Micka and even throw in Hinge as a big body

Yea I agree

Might have a great midfield but by the looks of a couple of posts on their FaceBook page they will struggle to field two sides next week if they dont get off the backsides and get some players registered, i believe they only have one working day to do it.
whats happen at TigerLand. hope its not boom and bust at the same time

Hey Guys, footy is back so it is time to tip some winners.

Goolwa Vs Willunga - Little upset here for me. I reckon Goolwa will get the biscuits

Langhornes Vs Victor - The Creek to get up in a tight contest

McLaren Vs Compass - Another upset. Compass with some handy inclusions to get over a very inconsistent McLaren side

Yankalilla Vs Myponga - Yank to win easily

Encounter Vs Strathalbyn - Strath to win here.

My ladder prediction:

Strathalbyn
Encounter Bay
Willunga
Goolwa
Langhornes
Victor
Compass
McLarens
Yankalilla
Myponga

Pretty tough first round to call. Haven't heard much about trial game form and it's so quiet on here you'd think footy was months away!!

I'm going Willunga over Goolwa. Got a feeling the Dees are going to be back in town this season.
VIctor to get over the traditionally slow starting Creek.
McLaren to beat Compass (who are these handy inclusions for Compass you speak of Luke15?)
Yank v Pongy....who knows! Big ins for both camps... Yank at home
Strath to beat Bays.

Victor over the Creek by about 5 goals.
A very error ridden scrap for 3 quarters until Victor took advantage of the Creeks tiredness by piling on the goals in the last term.
Creeks will NOT be playing Finals this season whilst Victor would want to improve 100% on that to be a serious contender.
