That means he is free to play this Sunday.
Victor would be very relieved.
Will be a rare time I barrack for Compass this weekend.
What a joke.

Creek player called the Victor goal umpire a cheat 2 seasons ago and got suspended for a match

Good to see the system working at its best

Be interesting to know the reasons for a suspension to be overturned?

Unbelievable how he can get off. The video evidence is so bloody clear . He should have been suspended earlier in the year when he clearly cracked a Yank bloke and broke his nose. The bloke and the system that keeps letting this stuff happen is a joke.....

I must be missing something here. Clearly cracked a Yank bloke? Broken nose? The guy just stood the mark and got on with it. Never even felt for his nose. In fact earlier in the year you said:

bluemaidstone wrote:100 % certain Alleway was reported by the Boundary Umpire , informed the Field Umpires . They then questioned the Yank player involved after the game. I also believe he informed the Umps all was ok ..

And others said:

Dutchy wrote:
Tiger83 wrote:Nothing in it. Did either umpire report him? Didn’t look like it. Cant be suspended if your not reported in the first place.

Geez you would be unlucky to cop a game for that.

So it would seem he had no case to answer and no one complained when he got off.

But now T83 says:

Tiger83 wrote:Yep dirty thug. Should especially be held to higher standards given he is the coach, but always seems to have ‘no case to answer’. The FACT that most incidents are caught on tape is even worse. Throw in the FACT that umpire intimidation and belittling at the tribunal had gone on, it’s a bit of a disgrace. However nothing surprises me anymore.

Facts? ‘Always’.???? Most’.???

Do you mean last Sunday against McLaren? I went and watched this game and kept my eye on Alleway the whole 2 hours. He wouldn’t have bruised anyone if it’s this game you’re talking about.

I can confirm Alleway was suspended for two matches by the SFL tribunal on Tuesday night. Victor Harbor appealed the decision and the matter was heard last night.

He has had his two match suspension overturned and will play Sunday.

The SFL sat on the matter to give Clint a fair hearing due to numerous people contacting the GSFL executives that had no involvement in the reports.

Does this set a bad precedence? It wasn’t an umpires word against his, there was video evidence.

How would McLaren have felt if he was ordered to miss two matches when it should’ve been the Elimination Final he missed first?

Interesting decision to get SFL tribunal involved, not sure I agree with that.

They really need to release why the decision was overturned.

If he breaks someone jaw after all this where does the GSFL stand?

Pretty sure Bull 04 is referring to the Rd 18 Victor v Creek game which the report came from

Am I reading it correct that he played a game in between the case being heard?

How many years has Alleway played in the GSFL? Is it 2 or 3? I don’t think he’s ever been reported and suspended in this time? Can anyone answer this? I’m still laughing from FOD reTiger83 comment. Sums up the whole hysteria behind this I think and wish it would move on as possible other agendas here. For me Willunga to beat Creek and then Roos to beat Compass. Then the preliminary final Roos v Creek. They’ll be bruises in that one I’d say and can’t wait if it happens.

Did Victor successfully argue that the SFL Tribunal has no jurisdiction over the GSFL competition?

According to Great Southern Sports fb page , it wasn't the suspension Victor appealed against but rather that the tribunal process was incorrectly administered to the letter of the law and on that technicality the suspension was overturned.

I suppose processes are put in place for a reason. I haven’t seen the FB page but this was always going to be the case over a week ago I heard where not much was done properly.

Hence why I wonder if getting another league to run the tribunal is what was argued as against the GSFL process.

To this week ends games, Willunga taking on Creeks at Myponga tomorrow In what looks like is going to be a cold miserable Windy day. One bad quarter of footy with the wind early can be very costly for that team. I think it will be extremely close all day but I’m predicting Creeks to be up at 3/4 time and to just hold off a fast finishing demons side. Creeks by 5 points.

Compass Versus Victor in the elimination final. Plenty at stake in this one. If Compass can play to their potential and string four quarters of footy together they should get the chocolates fairly convincingly. However history says in recent years Victor have been more than competitive and if I’m correct have had the wood over the Dogs. How ever I see the results being very similar to what it was last time these two sides met. Dogs by 40 +.
