Uraidla by 3-4 goals. Milang played without a bench, due to the match venue being changed at the last minute and some players unaware. It was the first time most of us have played at Bridgy and the tiny ground didn't suit our game. Quaint little place, with it's funny bridge and long handled fishing net to get the ball out of the creek.
Players win awards. Teams win games. Clubs win Premierships.

Quaint thats a great word to describe the place. Many years ago playing junior colts nearly drowned a kid in the forward pocket by the creek when I caught him holding the ball in few inches of water after a very wet week. Lucky the umpire called holding the ball before I got done for manslaughter.
Thanks for the reply and all the best to the panthers for next week.

Go the Panthers :D good to see the club stepping up from just fielding a team a few years ago to winning their fair share of games. Wondering is their a chance in the future of the club fielding 2 senior teams or fielding a junior team?

I think the Panthers aim to stay local, rather than falling into the trap of relying on a floating group of players from Adelaide for example. Most of our boys are local, ex-local, from nearby Southern areas or who have come to the club with mates and stayed. No-one gets paid; we're there because we want to be. Given the iminent growth of the town, the potential is definitely there for two senior sides and juniors in the future. I think the club will be prudent until then and continue to live within its' means.

Wasn't suggesting to pay players. Think it is fantastic from the sounds of it that the locals have banded together to get the club back up and running. Was simply wondering what the future had in store for the club. Prudent is a great word to use in running a club. Wish you all the best and will continue to follow your results with interest.

Milang 16.10 to Cally/Bridgy 1.9. Game abandoned halfway through last quarter due to a suspected spinal injury to a C/B player. Heartening to see the dry weather Panthers running so well in the mud. Also great to see C/B in Cally jumpers giving it a real go with a full side.

Do you know how the player went htr? Did not look good. Your trainers did a great job and ending the game was a good call, did not change the result anyway.

Can only give you a score in the first game. Blackwood over Milang by 11 goals. We fought hard as always and had a full bench. Didn't score a goal in the first three quarters but managed 8 points or so. Then coach Gazz threw us the challenge to outscore in the last quarter and we kicked 3 goals in the last 8 minutes. Uraidla is the coldest bloody place on earth.

Thanks HTH
Uraidla the coldest, close played there a few times but the winner still is

Mt Torrens when it snowed there back in the mid/late 70's one day (sorry can't remember the year bloody dementia  )
Kangrilla in 79 when it rained non stop all day deserves a mention.

Ashton loved that oval. watched Ashton 3-11 beat Kersbrook 4-4 rained all game, played in a sea of mud.
Beat eastern Rangers 84 when it didn't stop raining all day.

Spring chicken :o

C Grade scores today:-
Blackwood over Cally/Bridgy by around 37 goals. The hapless Eagles had only 11 players but were lent 4 by Blackwood to allow a game to happen with 15 players each. Not good to watch unfortunately.
Milang v Uraidla was a real cracker, with the Panthers winning by 2 goals.

Doesn't sound like it was much of a merger between Bridgewater and Callington, more so a take over by Bridgewater and see ya later Callington, never to be heard of again. RIP Callington FC

Sounds a bit sad for the Eagles.
Is it a final 5?

No, it's a final four. Sudden death finals on the same day:- first v fourth, second v third. The winners play each other in the Grand Final the following week. I feel sorry for the Eagles and would love to see them play a final. Not sure if it can still be done as the ladder isn't available yet.
