What ever was in place in 2013 will apply in 2014.

I guess leagues can apply their own by laws.

Each league can apply its own bylaws I'm pretty sure. So this would not be a surprise.

Approved Player Points System
The South Australian Community Football League recently conducted an extensive review of the current permutations of the APPS. A vote at the recent SACFL AGM saw a motion for all recommendations defeated. That being the case, the Rules and Regulation regarding the APPS for 2014 will remain consistent with season 2013. Any recommendations to the SACFL will be considered for season 2015 though must be lodged via the SAAFL prior to the 30th of April 2014.

Can confirm the 2013 system will apply for 2014.

Meaning?
SAAFL Div 1,2,3 Reserve players will still be 0 points?
Is that the main "rule" or?

If it is part of the current APPS, yes.

Huge changes coming in for next season apparently, including a heavily monitored maximum player payment of $400 per player.

This is sure to end some country clubs.

How are they going to police that? Get each player's tax file number and tax them for a 2nd job like SANFL clubs do?

Good luck with that.

For the honest clubs that are not within an hour of the CBD this will see some clubs fold. Who will drive to Yorkes or mid north or Riverland for 400 a game?

$400 is good money for a lot of people but yeah, the cream would be unlikely to travel that far for that sort of money.

Apparently there will be a dedicated team that will thoroughly investigate rumour and innuendo.

This is still rumour but I've heard penalties include lengthy bans for players and stripping of points from clubs, for all grades

What, $400 isn't enough to travel to the YP, Mid North or Riverland? Seriously?
Two blokes, possibly three, getting $400 each and getting into a car and driving 200km, or less is not enough?
Says a lot about how out of control spending has become and how greedy blokes have become that $400 - in some cases half a week's wages - is not enough. The fault lies on both sides of the coin - club and player.

How will this be policed?? what about 2nd and 3rd hand payments???? What about gifts and free meals and beer at the local pub?? I've heard of cars, motorbikes and even houses been given as match payments a club could say they giving them ONLY $400 per game but through the backdoor comes other ways of payment. Clubs will find a way around this (if its even true) i guess "watch this space"

Yep it has got way out of control, there would not be too many if any guys travelling to these areas for $400 or less unless they already have ties (ex junior or the like).

Dogwatcher, a metro player is being pursued by say South Gawler and also Loxton, they both offer the maximum $400 a game, where is he going to end up?

On the GSFL thread they are saying a max of $500/game plus petrol money of $1 per km away from the CBD (and return)

x2 to some degree.

Balaklava won't be too badly affected but the damage it could to other country clubs would surely mean end of the line for them.

This would be good as long as that $1 per km is enough to sway players to travel the extra distance

Yeah, there is talk of a "travel allowance"

$400 is what I'm hearing, the same as a base level SANFL league player match payment.

Fair question. Ultimately, some players will choose Loxton ahead of South Gawler, though, for whatever reason - local connections, mates, etc. I've seen it before - players pursued by two clubs, choose one for their connections, rather than the closest one. Not as rare as we might think.
