Its now public and Sedan Cambrai have posted.

Absolute tragedy last night with mail medalist Brad Walkely passing away in a fatal car crash.

Beyond his football ability he was an absolute legend of the field, always with a smile on his face, committed 100% to his family.

Ive never been to Sedan Cambrai before but thoughts go out to the entire club.

Gone far to soon but wont be forgotten. :(

Good cricketer, quality footballer, even better young man.

Thoughts with Sammy, Leo, Nayvah and the rest of the Walkley family and extended family through sports.

Sad to hear about the demise of Cobdogla. Were a strong club at the start of this century.

Surprising too after they picked themselves up off the bottom of ladder and made finals this year. Thought they were on the rebound as a club. I understand it is purely about volunteer numbers not player numbers which I think gives them a better chance of turning it around before they make a final call on 2022.

Maybe some of their paid recruit$ could take on extra roles off field to help out. At most clubs already it is the local players who are really stepping up in absence of volunteers by doubling up as trainers, submitting team sheets and online results, managing bar and canteen stock, manning gates, preparing the playing surface during the week etc. Just to name a few.

There is so much the players can do to ease load on volunteers aside from gametime roles such as umpire 1 field and one goal, canteen(if home game), timekeeper and be on duty trainer. By my calculation that's 5 non playing volunteers a club needs bare minimum to get a game played.

Last possession rule has to come in to independants to allow the scrapping of boundary umpires too. If it goes out under pressure no clear last possession then field umpire brings it in 30m and throws it up. Simple

Furthermore players already do and can easily choose to commit their time to fill both general and executive committee roles when required so the good news is it can be done if they want it bad enough and by announcing this now it gives people time to put their hand up and find more volunteerswithin. Hopefully they do! And hopefully the few whispers of Lyrup trying to reform get more momentum too.

With current president stepping down, heard they had an AGM with the hope of getting a new president, secretary etc.

No one stepped up and now they can’t keep going.

Usually it’s the lack of players that cause a club to pull out. Sounds pretty disappointing.

Was at Loxton North on Saturday (1st time seeing riverland footy) and loved it. I did notice The police at the end of the match set up at the entry/exit gates doing breatho's, smart by them too. Is that a common thing?

Definitely. With Loxton the main challenger.

Berri have lost a fair few Hodge, Teasdale and Finlay for starters are big holes to fill

Any news on gun recruits to the league?
Both Loxton teams seem to be recruiting well.

Haven’t heard much from Waikerie other than a couple smaller blokes I’ve never heard of.
and a guy from the B grade in the Adelaide Plains League I think it was.
Renmark the standout, followed by both the Loxton sides.

If the mail is correct, Waikerie has a gem in Tyrell Hocking!! But unsure how true it is at this stage but I wouldn't sleep on Waikerie, not being able to see clearances makes it a bit of an unknown haha

Barmera also a smokey for finals with some quality additions including Sam De Michele, Aedan Lyon & Fraser Sampson plus half a dozen A grade quality locals moving back to town. Could be a really tight fight from 2-5 on the ladder which would be great for the comp

Tyrell Hocking confirmed, he is on the kitchen roster sat night on the waikerie facebook.

North have kudra and lewis, couple quality ins. Take them from bottom to top?

Loxton recruited chris Knapp amd maison warner from eastern park. Key position players and a nice top up.

Berri may be struggling to field a bgrade rumour has it.

Should be a good first round, my predictions

Renmark over waikerie by 30pts
Loxton over north by 10pts
Barmera over berri by 70pts
