Genuinely baffles me that a game of country footy is important enough to give someone a job over but each to there own.

What hahndorf has done with there juniors over the past 10 years has been superb and the reason they are the best. No team has anywhere near the depth they have.

This pains me to say this but after watching them play on the weekend they will not lose unless clubs throw money at their middle tier players.. Names like Eckermann, Nykamp, Parker-Boers, Hayden, Joel Leake, Salt, Williams, N Hankin are all worth a solid amount on the open market. If other clubs could get 4 of those players out of their monopoly of talent then it would make it easier. Looking at the best players each week Parker- Boers and Hayden feature a lot. Surely throwing some coin would atleast get them thinking.

As for salary cap, is it against the rules to offer someone a job if they are genuinely interested in the field and dont get paid more during the winter months? As im sure the HFL has done a full review, but lets be honest if they do breach the cap and start with -10 points they’d still make finals.

Looks like Uri on the search for a new coach.

I heard Handles was looking to coach would he move across?

Heard a rumour the Lofty coach gone as well?

Echunga coach gone as well. Has been a merry go round there the last few years. Perhaps a hint of what the culture is like there?

John Greenslade signed up to play with Onkas next season from Sturt. Played his junior footy with us before going to Sturt and playing 100+ senior games and winning a flag. Doggies building nicely.

Brother in law to our coach, apparently we tried to get him last year. Hopefully get a couple more to be able to compete with Hahndorf. Be awesome if we could talk Kirwin out of retirement, Smart back from Norwood, the Peters brothers from Kersbrook (all wishful thinking). One position I think we need is another tall forward/ruck, Adcock ended up doing it well but we really missed him in the GF.

I'd hope we get more than 8. Hahndorf had 8 this year & have played in the last 5 GF's & won 4 of them.

He was at Echunga for the Grand Final. Not that that always means anything

Yeah points dont add up there.

Would they have the points? Greenslade will be 4. Im assuming ed smart might head back there now hes retired from sanfl also. Thats a very handy team there assembling especially if dawe is there (meadows would be shattered by that).

I've forgotten how they work the points out, is it based on wins over the past 3 years. Be interesting to see how many we get next year.

Previous years it’s been worked out on positioned finished on the ladder:
1st & 2nd - Get 8 Points
3rd & 4th - Get 10 Points
5th & 6th - Get 12 Points
7th & 8th - Get 14 Points
9th - Get 15 Points.

Just a quick look at how clubs used their points this year (Based off the last game they played)
Hahndorf - 8 Points allocated - Used 4 Points (Will Get 8 Points for 2020)
Mount Barker - 10 Points Allocated - Used All 10 (Will Get 8 Points for 2020)
Onka Valley - 14 Points Allocated - Used 12 Points (Will Get 10 Points for 2020)
Uraidla - 8 Points Allocated - Used 6 (Will get 10 Points for 2020)
Blackwood - 10 Points Allocated - Used 5 (Will Get 12 Points for 2020)
Echunga - 14 Points Allocated - Used All 14 (Will Get 12 Points for 2020)
Mt Lofty - 12 Points Allocated - Used 11 (Will Get 14 Points for 2020)
Lobethal - 14 Points Allocated - Used 3 (Will Get 14 Points for 2020)
Nairne - 17 (allocated 2 x Extra points) - Used 15 (Will Get 15 Points for 2020)

Be interesting to see if the Hills look at the allocation of points VS players coming in to increase the quality of football in the comp?

ALSO, with Juniors are there any clubs that will struggle to meet the criteria to fill all sides in 2020 (have heard the early rumour of Echunga (with now no coach) heading back down to Div. 2? Any others?

Echunga finished 5th in 2018 so they should only have had 12 points this year.

The Docs online state:

3.1. A League is to implement a system and any such system should be based on, but not limited to:
3.1.1. A sliding scale having regard for the premiership ladder in the previous season(s);
3.1.2. Other local factors such as population, junior numbers / success, schools etc.
3.1.3. A combination of all of the above

May help explain Echunga, given extra few points for local population and juniors? maybe?
